I don't think it's as easy to break them up when their inter Asia trips that don't make it back to DTW until the last day.

That's correct. If you change a GS, WS etc. you go to the bottom of the group until the next PCS run. If you can, the best way to avoid this is to change your slip just prior to a PCS run so you can avoid this as much as possible. I don't know the contract reference or if there even is one but it's been done this way for a long time.

The best way to avoid this is to submit a second GS with the new parameters you want. Do not change or delete the first one unless it is right before the 7am or 6 pm windows. That keeps the first one active at your seniority level and the second one will be in but you go to the bottom of the list.

Pineapple won't like this but he should have called in sick after trying AA and airtran . By calling in stooopid he not only lost money on the denied boarding but lost his trip to boot. Too bad Dalpa was in such a rush to get a contract alone vs. working together to cherry pick...As more and more of you southies commute you will realize the value of our call in honest program.
The joint contract was negotiated by both NW and Delta pilots. The Delta pilots did not do it alone. The NW pilots voted to ratify that contract with a much higher percentage of yes votes then the Delta pilots.
Edit: Dang Denny.. you beat me to the explanation
I don't understand your logic here... this is a smokin' deal for a reserve pilot. It is one part of the contract that we should all vote no on if management tries to change (like they supposedly did the last contract).
