They are awesome notes, and great for ppl to read, but just a little too good. The DALPA board may be a good place for it since it will be DAL pilots only that are seeing it.
No. There were some very specific numbers in there. It's probably best to leave them off.

It's worth the money just to know you're going (and more importantly coming back on schedule.)

Good deals to be had, but you definitely need to shop around. You can go 90% of the way through the booking process and see the price before you have to pull the trigger. Have fun on the vacation! I'm jealous. I'll be up all night with a newborn about the time you're sipping cocktails on the beach.
Hey thanks for the info. I mainly want to buy tickets because I'm not a good non-rev guy for vacation. I stress way too much, which defeats the purpose of vacation!

Have fun with the newborn man. Some nights you will sleep very little, but cherish it. They truly are a blessing, and you'll love every second.

I believe the "brief" was actually a letter from the LAX CPO to his pilots.

So sharing it on here is ok? Honest question because I don't know.

Thanks.

Sorry about that - I'll sanitize and repost.

Default LAX Base Visit Notes

1. A/C - 2 new 737-800s, reactivate from storage - 5 767, 11 757s, 2 747s and an additional 20 MD-90s. PAID CASH for last two 777s. All DC9 30-40s retired by 1st quarter 2011.

2. Ship sets are coming. A330 in August and probably 75/76 in Sept/Oct. Rest of fleet 1st 6 months of 2011. Working toward EFB.

3. Hiring is continuing. 50 furlough/bypass to return. With Flow up and bypass expect about 150-170 off the street. Avg new hire has 3500+ hours. No future hiring decision has been made. By Aug 2011 will have 900 pilots Age 60-65 and 1300 a year after that.

4. No Guam base - currently a dead issue.

5. Next AE for Sept. Other than SLC 767 to 7ER no other specific categories or changes planned on next bid.

6. Expect JFK announcement soon. (You've all heard/seen most of the rumors).

That's about it for an abbreviated summary.
