I don't think anything sinister is going on here. They said they would hire 305 including furlough bypasses, flows and off the street. They stated at every roadshow that hiring would stop at that point and resume next Aug. The furlough bypasses have contractual language on when they have to notify the company. The original estimates were based on a non binding letter asking who was coming back. Now that the contractual timeline is coming up it appears more are coming back then said they would.

Just finished a three day with mostly north-side fa's...they are working hard at spreading the "Dougie is coming back" rumor. Personally, I don't buy it.

Heard any new numbers for furlough returnees? Last # the company gave us was around 50.

Of course, the possibility of RA leaving would explain how we could have the best financial quarter in a decade an still see our stock dive.
I'm not into rumors - and not trying to spread them, but would like to see this one go away. RA has been great for Delta. |
Hockey, all they need to give is 30 days notice and that is about the lead time to the Sept class.
I know of a few guys at UPS in six and seven years of seniority that were seriously thinking of leaving to return to DAL. Most but not all were aware where they would sit. |
Gentlemen,
If you get a greenslip on reserve, when and how do you work out the future days off you want with scheduling? |
new;
The PB days are given to you at the first available date. IE you next reserve days. You do not get to place them. Now if the GS results in the inability to award PB days at the end of the month they are banked in your bank. |

Payback Day Bank
If there are insufficient days remaining in the bid period, the excess X-days are placed into a Payback Day Bank. These days may be used as follows: • Reserve coverage permitting, a pilot may drop a rotation of any length using his payback days. o If the number of payback days in his bank equals or exceeds the length of the rotation, then he will receive pay and credit for the entire rotation. o If the number of payback days in his bank is less than the length of the rotation, then he will receive pay and credit for the first portion of the rotation that is equal to the number of days in his bank. • Reserve coverage permitting, a pilot may drop any number of on-call days, to the extent of the number of days in his payback day bank. He will receive pay and credit of 3:53 for each on-call day dropped. • By mutual agreement with Crew Scheduling, a pilot may have payback days added to the beginning or end of a vacation period in the current vacation year. His vacation bank will be credited 3:00 for each payback day added to his vacation. • Payback days that are not used by December 31 are converted to supplemental (SUPP) vacation days and applied toward the following year’s vacation. (See Vacation Allotment and Bidding article for more details.) Reserve payback days start about 9hrs after you block in from a GS trip. If there are not enough days left in the month they become a payback day and those are fairly will explained above. FTB posted this a few pages back and it looks like he got it right out of the contract. Denny |
