TenYearsGone,

Maybe you could volunteer to be the recon man in the Aug 2 recall class. I'm thinking the junior APC crowd could use some info like: total recall numbers, new hire numbers, and flow numbers. Also when the classes will run through. Oh, and where all you "senior" guys are heading (I recommend you stay off the Maddog).

You are 100% correct on that one. To be fair, I should not have included the 9-11 furloughs, but my point is that a quick change in the hiring posture would not be unheard of.

If you are studying for the 737 recurrent please share any insights via a PM when complete. :p

Scoop

Will do Scoop. Actually, looks a little more gentlemanly at this point than last year. But, its two days of rockin-sockin action. I'll report back.

Cheers.

GS to AMM, BUD, and AGP today, starting to look good....

23K fun facts

Last night, I got 23K'ed from my 4 day Europe trip to a turnaround on what would have been day three of my original trip.

In reading section 23K, it referred to section 5E, which says that the company will provide a hotel room if you're assigned replacement flying, even if you're in your own base. I got two nights in New York courtesy of mother Delta.

I didn't realize this was in our contract (nor did several guys hanging around the pilot lounge last night). Good to know,though...

Oh yeah you get a room on 23K and you also get one for a Domicile LAYO if you are a regular line holder.

I saw one go out as a GS with conflict. $$

On a similar note, I was on the JS going home last night on a 320. The former NWA guys were talking about how easy it was to make lots of extra dough with GSs. The -9 guy on the other JS said that a Captain on the -9 made $19K last month, and an FO on the -9 made $13K as well.

OK. For us uninformed, what is 23K'ed. Too lazy to look it up.

Its recovery obligations for when a rotation is changed or canceled due to IROPS and you are notified before the first flight departs

Sounds like an average month at SWA.

Good laugh

I was just checking out some of the Delta layover hotels on mycrewguide.com for some potential vacation spots. The Quito hotel has a user comment regarding the cheap availability of Cialis if purchased in bulk.

Is getting old really that tough guys? If you're bidding your layovers so you can stock up on performance pills, it may be time to shove off into retirement. Leave the all-nighters for us young bucks that can still rise to the challenge. :D
