I wish I could but I still don't understand everything, & I've been on it since Feb.

 

You might have already gotten an answer, I just didn't see a post relating to it so here goes:
Once your trip is taken for training, scheduling will try and notify you the day prior as to your new obligations (if a new trip is assigned it has to duty in at or after you original and duty out 4 hrs after or midnight....read midnight the last day)
Now if they can't contact you to notify you of the new assignment within 3 hrs of your original duty in they will remove said recovery flying. At this point you are a short call resv pilot for the foot print of your trip....but if they don't assign anything to you by the first 6hrs (I think) of your resv obligation you are released for the remaining duration of the foot print of the original trip.

It means someone wanted to drop that trip but the request was denied most likely due to lack of coverage. It's a qualified trip.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines Inc's $1.2 billion renovation of its terminals at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport is expected to be approved on Thursday, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.

The board of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey will vote on the project on Thursday, the source said.

A Port Authority representative confirmed there will be a Delta project before the board on Thursday.

"Delta has been working closely with the Port to develop a plan for our JFK Terminal, one that reflects the significant investments we've been making in the New York market over the past several years," Delta spokeswoman Heather Faulkner said in a statement.

Delta has made no secret of its desire to improve operations at JFK, calling the New York airport "its worst facility" during a June investor conference.

Company executives told analysts on Delta's earnings conference call last month that the carrier was working on "resolving its facility issues at JFK" and hoped "to have an announcement in that regard shortly."

That is a Qualified drop or a Q ROT. The pilot put in to drop the trip and it has been through the PCS system. It has been denined by PCS however another pilot in the same base as a regluar pilot can do a straight pickup and take it off his line.

Gives the regluar line holder a heads up that this would help another pilot out if they picked up this rotation rather than one in the POT.

 

So in other words.. continue holding your breath.

Good info. Dont forget if it is a International Trip they must have you back within 30 hours of the orginal block in. Section 16a of the PWA cover the definition of International Ops.

Domestic. within 4 hours of original block in or Midnight which ever is later. Section 23K.

 

Just out of curiosity, does anybody know the price tag on the new international terminal in ATL? JFK SHOULD be a showpiece, and I would be surprised if they are "planning" on spending anywhere near the coin on it.. I could be wrong, because I honestly do not know... but I'd lay odds that way more money has been spent in ATL than will EVER be spent in NY..

 

Don't know T. IMO DAL has less people to win over in ATL then in NYC. If DAL wants to become NYs Premier Airline then I think they need to put the $$$ in JFK. It's a lucrative business market, but also for tourism. I think DAL is finally realizing that. CAL has a pretty good following in NYC, & I think with that brand disappearing DAL has a good chance to steal some of their customers.
