Question about MD90 pay on reserve.
If I understand correctly, you are paid the MD90 rate while sitting on reserve. IOW, if you didn't fly a single hour in the month (hypothetical, of course) you would be paid 70 hours at MD90 rates. Correct?
Now, if you flew 35 hours in a MD88, would you then be paid 35 hours at MD90 rates and 35 hours at MD88 rates? If so, it would take away the incentive to fly. You'd make more the less you flew. I'm basing this on being based in ATL (once everyone is converted) where the bulk of the flying will still consist of MD88 with the occasional MD90 thrown in.
I think it's time all MD88 were brought up to MD90 pay, just as the 737-700 and -800 are same pay.

Once you break guarantee I could see a situation where the extra credit is to some extent absorbed by the lower 88 rate...
For me this is a non-issue, I've seldom just barely broken guarantee, its either way under or way over....

One more time, because I had it wrong untill I dug through old paystubs:
Reserves in MD90 qualed bases get paid 70hrs of guarantee at the MD90 rate.
Look at the top right corner of your pay stub in iCrew.
The rate is in minutes, so multiply by 60 to get hours and 70 to get guarantee...
I was MD'd from a 90 base to an 88 base and that minute rate in the top right corner of my paycheck is lower now than before the transfer...
luckily the important number is bigger. ;-)
Cheers

I guess the majority of the posters to this thread are on reserve. Is there any way we can start a DAL reserve thread so I don't (or other line holders) have to scroll through half the posts on this thread.

I'm not reserve
Maybe we should add a 767 lineholder captain thread instead.

That's what I thought until I called payroll because it looked like I wasn't being paid the 90 rate while on reserve. They told me every 88 category gets 88 pay and the 90 qualified categories get the 90 pay when you fly the 90. It's hard to actually tell because you usually fly the 90 enough that the difference is minimal, but they assured me I was being paid the 88 rate unless I flew the 90 and my calculations agreed with that. I've never figured out that rate in minutes on the top of the pay stub. There is nothing in the contract that specifies what the 90 qualified guys should get paid, but you are actually an 88 category and not a 90 category according to the payroll people.

I would do yourself a favor before posting something like this and work out the math. A raise like that is somewhere between 550 to 600 million dollars a year in cost to the company. If you think they are going to give that up to outsource the 100 seat flying then I have hundreds of bridges to sell you!

All of this is true if they decide they're going to follow the PWA. Put in for a YS last week, and designated one trip (3 day) I wanted. Got a different 3 day trip, and saw the trip I wanted go to a guy jr to me four minutes later who hadn't put in for a YS.
I called and spoke to the scheduler, who after putting me on hold for 8 minutes said he didn't know why; said they must have read the numbers wrong. His comment was they try to "accommodate" the requests and that it was too late to fix it.
Seems this happens fairly often enough that there should be greater transparency to the process.

Actually after reading that I think you meant the recalls to DAL oops. I'll try and read better next time.
