Hey guys,
Would anyone be able to give advice on the 'open time' request process? I've been out on leave for 2 months and go back next week. I am having trouble with entering the open time request... think I screwed it up. Thanks

Maybe more bodies if they simply don't replace the DC9s. AND if they're DC9 REPLACEMENT aircraft, who gets to fly them.

Getting more 90s is great! But can we now get someone to finally try to get 90 pay for all 88 guys? When you fly a 75 you get 76 pay. When you fly a 737-700 you get -800 pay. When you fly an A319, you get A320 pay. So why when I fly an 88, do I not get 90 pay? It's the same category, even more so now that all 88 bases will be 90 trained. Here's an idea, next time the company wants a side letter, we say "sure.....just sign this first"!

Interesting perspective, and thanks for giving it. I can see you and others may have taken those opinions as blame of south guys, but it truly is not. Again, all of us know that you guys are just line pilots like the rest of us - no blame on you at all.
As far as the Amish jokes, that's just me being a y-zass. Can't help that part dude, it's in the DNA. And for the record, I've never said things around here are being run by the Amish. I've just said that it would be an improvement if they did.

You know when I go to the regional forum I kind of want to leave a rope or something here for you guys to pull me back. Just in case I end up getting killed and fall into limbo or something without my totem. But today, I went to somewhere just as bad, airliners.net, and came away with this:
DAL767-400ER (poster, I guess they don't use goofy names there)
Okay, let's see if my count is up-to-date now. So far, we have
16 Delta's own MD-90s
9 ex-China Eastern already in GSO and ATL for modding
3 ex-Hello's owned planes already in GSO and ATL for modding
11 ex-China Southern (don't know about the 2 China-built MD-90s; bought for spares?) soon to be on their way.
These 8 planes (obviously not officially identified, but really, who else could it be?)
That's a total of 47 planes, plus the 16 JAL planes, which will hopefully be made official soon, which would put the total at 63 planes, which is pretty much the minimum fleet number Delta looked for, IIRC.
Now the only ones left on the market are the 11 with the EVA group in Taiwan (not planned for retirement), SV's 29 glass-cockpit birds, and the 5 Lion Air jets.

OK.. fair enough, but I want you to understand that a lot of times it does not come across like that. When all that comes out of your keyboard is DAL is slow at doing this.. and backward at doing that yada yada yada.. it sounds as if you are placing blame on us, particularly when you refer to things being run by the Amish and all that crap you DO say. And I do think it quite arrogant that some northies seem to think that since they have seen both sides of this particular merger that they automatically know which system is better strictly by that perspective... all the while intimating that since those of us from the south do NOT have that perspective our view on things is irrelevant. This ain't our first rodeo either Jack. You can deny this all you want, but I'll betcha I am not alone in this view. Nuff said.
