Hope this comes out as a hyper link...my apologies in advance if it doesn't. Here's a good article to glance at. A B/A crew in a 777 did an intersection T/O, from the wrong intersection. Happened last year, and nearly a disaster. Could've easily been avoided with simply a taxi brief. Can't believe they don't do that at B/A.

BA passengers tried to halt 777 take-off after taxiing error

Interesting... certainly agree that it's a gross crew error, but how about a little help from the tower? Great example of what happens to guys that count on ATC helping out.

I know you guys talked about this a few pages ago, but I just saw the "Lift" commercial on Deltanet that they are about to release and it is outstanding.

I'm all fired up now. Good job Delta. :)

I actually found it in the Android Market but it then points you to the URL to download. I found this to be extremely annoying and slow. Perhaps this is in its testing phase? Maybe they'll get the glitches out and make it full up on the Android Market.

For now, I've uninstalled it. I really don't need to see my schedule that badly. Everything else you can do with Dolphin and Dolphin is a very nice browser.

That's what an alpha version is by definition. Something brand new and not recommended for use by Joe Public. They want feedback from real users on bugs that need to be fixed. The beta version should be less bloated and much faster.

I haven't looked back very far, but has anybody been chatting about what is happening over at Communist Air? Or is that a taboo stirring the pot topic? Just wondering. Considering their MEC denied a flow through to our DAL furloughees and even had the audacity to accuse DAL pilots of flying their struck work, I'm surprised DAL pilots haven't been posting sweet revenge messages. Especially the guys that were on furlough at the time. It kind of sounds like about half the Comair pilots will be in the unemployment line soon.

Has anyone rode the Jumpseat from Bos to Bermuda? Are we allowed in the cockpit on intl flts or must there be a seat in back? Thanks.

Heyas,

Regarding the packs w/ external power thing...that is a 727 thing only.

The 727 had nothing automatic at all. Even if the APU was running, you had manually connect the generator if external power dropped off. If you were using the APU to run the packs off the bleed, and external power for electrics, if the external power dropped off, the pack fans would stop, and you'd smoke the packs before they tripped off. The idea behind "don't split power" was to prevent this from happening.

The DC-9 has pneumatic flow sensors to check if the pack fans are running. If the fans stop, the system will shut off bleed air to the packs. So this issue isn't a concern on the -9.
