That OLD NW logo was probably one of the best logos ever made.
There' the N, the W and the compass rose pointing Northwest, brilliant
...and totally ruined by the corporate ID guy that made the last NW logo, deconstructed the parts and made the compass point any which way...
not to mention adding the name of a notorious rap group from the 90's on the side...
Cheers

....of course it helps if you look up there during the walkaround after you've breathed in some good hydraulic fumes from the wheel wells followed by a healthy lung full of "Eau de Jet A". Then you can see all sorts of things.

You're asking for others to open their minds to imagination yet you state, the NW logo "is one of the last of the great logos." Dude, where's your imagination? Guess all the good songs have been played already as well, huh?
I just want to know where the Jeppesen burning party is. Was going down to Florida to burn some K****ns but that got canceled. Next best thing Jepps.
Little voice in my head was warning me during the SLI discussions, but I just ignored it!!
Just kidding boys Great post DelDah, made my day

Mainly because the "AE can't cause an MD" rule doesn't apply and neither do freezes. SLC7ER is a new category.
Its in the west. Its "widebody". Its Boeing. Its gonna have some international.
Senior Northwest guys will be coming in plus a few DAL.
Open question is - how many?
My wild guess - 25 Captains + 30 FOs will be displaced.

It affects more towards the junior half of the seniority list. We still have a few SLC locals (CA and FO) that are stuck in MSP sitting reserve because when they closed up SLCM88, and now with this 767 to 7ER bid, it's gonna create more or less of the same effect just like last time. The whale openings sure look sweet, but if you ask most SLC locals, they'd be happy driving to work, fly their narrow 757/767 till they retire.
What Check Essential said. I think the ONLY categories you will see displacements in will be in SLC. The displacements will trickle down through the 800 and 320 because of the locals who will fly anything to not commute. Most of the guys that will get booted out of base will go to MSP since SEA and LAX are also getting more senior. The 320 category in MSP has enough room to soak up the displacements that will come in, so I think everyone else will see upward movement. It's good overall, just stinks to have almost your entire base open to bid by everyone within a year. Kinda feels like a bump and flush if you know what I mean.
1)I'm fairly junior and I got into SLC on the last AE.
2)DALS pilots tend to over value DALS products and bases compared to how DALN pilots actually feel. That being said, your perception that its going to create a North wave is a little off. Yall said that about ATL and that never materialized, more the opposite.
3)Senior North pilots can already hold the ER or better(330/744) in SEA/MSP/DTW. Basically they would have to bid down to go to SLC. I really don't see it, especially with all the openings.
I may be way off base but we will see in a few weeks.

I hear you guys but I'm willing to bet it turns out differently. You've seen many more AEs than me so I may be naive but here is why I disagree:
1)I'm fairly junior and I got into SLC on the last AE.
2)DALS pilots tend to over value DALS products and bases compared to how DALN pilots actually feel. That being said, your perception that its going to create a North wave is a little off. Yall said that about ATL and that never materialized, more the opposite.

Atlanta has seen a large reduction in pilots since the merger. There have been on vacancies for former NW pilots to bid on. It appears to be very clear that when everything shakes out the junior bases are going to be MSP and DTW. I thought NYC would be a bottom feeder also but its going much more senior since the merger.
