Check;

If you have not figured out I am not talking about a man or a single candidate, I am talking about the vision one needs to have to lead this association. I could care less who the man or woman is, I care about the ideas, goals, and resolve.

If a candidate takes a strong position on reforming the ALPA structure (mainline v regional voting powers), states there is a strong benefit of unity and keeping the regionals in our association, understands what this industry has coming, and is willing to communicate these issues and his/her goals to the National group on the national stage, I am more than willing to support that person.

It is the ideas that get the vote not the person.

FOX News alert: Neil Cavuto is going to do a piece about drinking, pill popping commercial airline pilots in the next few minutes. No idea what his approach will be...just heard him pitching it, however.

Like everything he does, it will be well balanced, non-sensationalized, and he will include subjects that represent the target group of his report...

Cheers

Delta Simulator Technicians to Remain Union-Free
Simulator Technicians reject IAM representation for the second time this year

ATLANTA, Sept 16, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Delta Air Lines /quotes/comstock/13*!dal/quotes/nls/dal (DAL 11.58, +0.08, +0.70%) today received notification from the National Mediation Board (NMB) that a majority of simulator technicians have again rejected representation by the International Association of Machinists (IAM).

In a memo issued today to Delta's simulator technicians, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations Steve Dickson responded to the technicians' decision:

"Today the National Mediation Board (NMB) reported a majority of Delta's simulator technicians have rejected IAM representation. We are pleased our combined simulator technician workgroup has once again chosen a direct relationship with Delta leaders. This relationship is one of the most important aspects of our unique culture.

The NMB procedures provide seven business days - until September 27 - for a participant to contest an election. We will be communicating next steps as soon as this period expires. We hope all concerned are prepared to move on and respect the decision of our simulator technicians.

Thank you for your trust and your continued focus and professionalism during both elections.

As we move forward together as a unified team, we will continue to make Delta a great place to work."

There were 91 flight simulator technicians eligible to vote in this election. Of those, 18 voted for IAM representation, with 23 other write-in votes.

Typical Mary Schiavo hit piece. Everybody's flying around plastered and the FAA isn't doing anything about it. Sheeesh.:rolleyes:

Far be it from Cavuto to be sensationalist and flashy. :eek:

To be somewhat "on topic," as far as AE vs. APA... I believe the APA would be more advantageous for the company. Especially since they are so twitchy with sharpshooting future flying. Just seems to make more sense.

The end result is basically the same, though.
