The side stick offers an unimpeded view of the instruments. With roughly 2,000 hours in each, I prefer the side stick. I'd gladly fly the left handed version when seniority allows.
I guess I feel attached to the yoke. I can tell where the airplane is and what its doing by the feel. Do you get that same sense with the sidestick? |

I'm kind of tall, so I've never had that problem. I guess it can be an issue for some people.

Up is good, down is okay, could be bad, it depends. Throttles (power levers, whatever) forward = fast, throttles back = slow. I've flown with both. Works great, lasts a long time. More importantly, where are the hot chicks pix? And the AE speculation? This thread is getting really mundane. Oh yeah, and the SLI blows. Those frikkin NWA guys.:D |
A side stick is, by far, the super premium control input method of choice. :)

I have changed my AE prefs three times tonight as I watch the AE's prefs change. I am sharpshooting a seat or two. :D

Any guesses on how junior Atl and NY seats may end up going?
Anyone? Anyone? Especially the dudes working on the fourth floor. |
I suspect a lot of 320 guys leaving and going to bigger metal. I've run into and had lots of deadheading 320 guys and they're kind of angry that they've lost their good long haul trips. They said everything is becoming the shuttle, florida runs, or atlanta runs. One Captain told me, I left my regional company because of this crap.
Oh, and of course that sidestick thing is crap. :p |

Those frikkin NWA guys.:D When taking off, try really hard to keep the aircraft on the concrete/asphalt thingy. When landing, try really hard to keep the aircraft on the concrete/asphalt thingy. Never refer to the "ramp" as the "tarmac." And this is the most important, always, ALWAYS, sound super sexy cool on the radio. It's not how you fly, its how you sound. Others are listening and they don't know how you fly...they do, however, know how you sound. Wax on, wax off bros. |
