What the pilots from OH have a beef with is this LOA. They do not want it to include OH and EV. Fact is that management left the verbiage intact. We need to make sure it includes all DCI carriers.

Are you sure? I thought it only applied to CPZ and MSA.....

It is really good actually. I never understood the turkey and egg salad combo. That was just plain gross.

The pastrami on the pretzel bread thingy is pretty good too. From the smells emanating up into the cockpit from first class, they're getting fed better as well. The baked yard bird is good. No more eggplant surprise (at least not right now).

I have to admit, some of the sandwhiches and meals from coach are a lot better than first class. But I wouldn't say anything we serve is worth it (domestic that is). I would still prefer to have my own food from the concourse.

Actually, I read a pretty funny experiment where a journalist put his bio up on wikipedia, then checked in every 3 months over a few years to see how it "morphed" as pranksters modified it beyond all recognition.

You mean you pay for your food (and newspapers)? How un-airline pilot of you!

jk I prefer to buy my own food and not eat that on line stuff also.

If we park the 9's and furlough 400 guys, then replace them with additional jets larger than 51 seats at DCI carriers, those additonal vacancies would be filled 100% by Delta furloughees if a Cat I affiliate and 50% if a Cat II affiliate. It isn't a flush scenario like Compass, and there are gonna be lots of questions if we ever have to use this. Would you be placed on the bottom of the seniority list, what year pay would you have, do you acrue longevity while flying there, etc. Hopefully this never becomes and issue, but we better not give it away because we all know what will replace the 9's when they start parking them.

Okay now I see how the LOA works. Thanks.

Gents,

I appear to have gotten screwed by scheduling. I hold a reserve line in March and my one day of vacation for the year falls on an X day. I called crew scheds and they told me to pack sand (that the X day could not be moved). Is there any way I can move it? The PCS function will not allow it either. I know that I get pay no credit (a whole three hours whooptiedoo) but for me the point of vacation is to work less in the month, not the same amount for a few extra paltry hours of pay. Seems crazy that they can do this. Thanks in advance.

Sadly this is a highly sought after feature by many pilots. Scheds has far more requests to move X days into rather then out of vacations. You need to post this same post on the DALPA scheduling forum. It may be the answer is just plain no or it may be a complex answer dealing with X day patterns that they can help you with. When it comes to scheduling questions that is always the place to go to get a correct and timely answer.

Everyone read the new TWG notepad out about Bid Period 5? Pretty educational read. Looks like NWAs APAs are done in Aug and the 744 fleet will be fully aligned with PBS/DBMS by August.

So, leads me to believe that the rumored AE in the summer might be the last pre-merger Delta AE before the shuffling begins with the full airline bid. Anyone else reading that into it?

I just read it, and it seems that you are correct. However, I'm a Delta North pilot, so I'm not too familiar with the AE....yet.;) Looks like the last airplanes at Delta North to hit BP5 are the 757, 742, and DC9.
