And to tag on... the absolute WORST was a so-called line guy. I don't think he'd seen a real 767 in years.

Note to DAL Mgmt Regarding Reserve Staffing

You have successfully cut our pay enough to where the avg line pilot feels they need to fly more (whiteslips) to make ends meat. That being said, I request that you do away with short call since line holders are more than willing to pick up short notice trips. I would much rather spend my call time from my home, wherever that may be, intead of some POS domocile pad. Just give me 12 hours notice and I will be there with my hat on.

P.S. If you give a little more pay you may not need us at all.

Not so sure about that. I sit reserve and at least twice a month I get called out when sitting short call.

Gotta agree. Two of the best trips I ever got, (layover wise,) were off of SC.

4 SC for me in March.

I gotta admit, now with the 6 sc instead of 8 last year, is a bit better. But scheduling has adapted with this policy with some very wise use of SC assignment. I still sit 6 times a month, but instead of stacking them together, you may see a SC on your first day of the week, work a day or so, and they "tease" you by letting you home for a day or so, and have you sit SC on your very last day of the week. For commuters, that's a big "tease".

I'm sure that's not the norm, as they've been pretty kind to me. Now, if they reduce SC to like 4/5 a month, then we're talking:)

0 short calls for me this month and 90 hours credit. It's not even summer yet....

Bucking Bar 03-30-2009 09:38 AM

Rocky - what are you flying?

Has got to be an MD88.

Hi!

I just flew as civ pax on KLM AMS-NBO. Nothing special...just like US FAs-I was kind of disappointed.

PS. Saw on Delta Net that the 777 boys will be at Camp Narita starting May 1. Just in time to see the KLM hardbodies out by the pool!

No, I'll be in the good ol US of A then

It will be great to see the return of our smoking blue giants by the pool.
