No I have never heard of it. How do you handle reserves that do not want to go there? (I can hear the answer to this one.. but go ahead) Pay doesn't fix everything. And most of all, it doesn't mitigate the danger. It's not always about money.

I must say that the north pilots are like kids in a candy store with the new sick policy, Just call in sick when you don't want to work and you never need a doctor note. Not like the notes you needed before after the first call. Don't like the new commute policy, that is ok just call in sick at the last minute. I wonder how long it will last before we lose it.
As a Former North Pilot, I'm having trouble keeping track of the many reasons why we are so poor at this whole "merge" thing. Let me see if I can get all of them: 1.) We call in sick too much. 2.) We don't single engine taxi enough. 3.) We leave too many APU"s running at the gate. 4.) We complain too much. 5.) We don't follow established procedures enough. 6.) We overfly MSP too much. 7.) We take all the good "South" flying. 8.) We move into all the good "South" bases. 9.) We leave you all the horrible bases to fly out of. 10.) "Our" flight attendants are mean to you and the customers. 11.) We are too distrustful of management. 12.) We are too distrustful of our union leaders. 13.) We are not patient enough in waiting for change (for anything). 14.) Our negotiators invented the term "super premium widebody flying" These above reasons are all fine and dandy, but can someone tell me when I can stop being a North pilot, and when I become a Delta pilot? When do I stop getting analyzed as a "North Pilot?" Is it a point reached on the above infraction list? 17? 21? Or, is it a certain point in time down the road? A date? 2015? 2020? Like seriously, when do the two groups actually merge? I must say, I hope it is soon. New K Now |
A little off topic so I am sorry.....But does anyone know what "MISC FLT" deduction on my paycheck means? It's about 124 dollars each paycheck and I have no clue what it could be. I have not non reved in a long time so I know it cant be that. Any info would be great. Thanks.
Disregard....I answered my own question after I went back and investigated a bit more. My error. Carry on fellas. |

Ok ,first I never said that the commute policy was in jeopardy it was the sick policy. Second it has nothing to do with like or dislike anyone. As far as all of you saying that I am being divisive than i must be since I repeated what was said to me. I am not in any dept. to give you numbers or names, I never claimed to. Repeated what I heard, and yup that is all I did. If you like to think I made it up or changed what I was told then fine. Some of these dept. are small and saying who said it to gain your trust is silly. I couldn't care less if you think it is someone in the know or not. FWIW it is. Take it or leave it. And yes they specifically said it was mostly north guys not making commutes and calling in at the last minute. BTW.......I think that everyone of you wear funny shoes.

T; I could be mistaken, or have woke up in an alternate universe, but I do believe there was a LOA a couple months back which gave reserves the protection to turn down or not be eligible for the Malaria trips. Some kind of extended notice for malarone and the trips, if in open time, would not be going to short calls. I could be wrong since it is from memory. |
No amount of money would make me want to put the rest of my life at stake. These trips should be volunteer only, but with extra pay if that is what guys want. I would do it for my country as a DOD member if they asked me (and I have), just not for cash. But, that's just me.
