It is 6 degrees now in MSP, but it is sunny!

I actually saw a capt, sans hat, with a non-descript coat on and no indentifying tags on his bags as to his name or airline tell a hat policeman to go "F" himself and kept on walking when asked where his hat was.

News snipit:

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines (DAL.N) said on Thursday that it would grant voluntary buyouts to the more than 2,100 employees requesting them, but the number of job cuts could grow as the company assesses future labor needs.

The world's largest airline previously said it would cut capacity by 6 percent to 8 percent this year as economic weakness erodes travel demand.

Delta, which eliminated 4,000 jobs last year though voluntary exit packages, has not offered a firm estimate for the total number of jobs it would need to cut to achieve its downsizing.

The carrier currently has more than 70,000 workers.

"We will be thoughtful, yet decisive, in managing through this global recession," Delta said in an internal memo.

Here's your pension: Found it, but didn't see the hat! The stock given to RA alone on 30JAN09 would be valued at $7,971,200 at $20 per share. Far cry from where it is today, but it will eventually get there regardless. This insider trading only covers mid DEC-JAN.

Delta to expand in SLC.... Opps I mean Delta Connection to expand... Glad they got jets to do it...

Delta adds 8 new nonstops from Salt Lake City hub: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance

Delta Air Lines adds nonstop flights and new frequencies from Salt Lake City hub

ATLANTA (AP) -- Delta Air Lines Inc. said on Thursday it is adding nonstop flights between Salt Lake City and eight new cities, starting June 4.
The new cities are Bismarck, N.D.; Des Moines, Iowa; El Paso, Texas; Fargo, N.D.; Indianapolis; Milwaukee; Nashville, Tenn.; and Sioux Falls, S.D. All the flights are once daily except Milwaukee, which is twice daily.
Delta also said that by June it would add one new daily round-trip between Salt Lake City and eight other cities: Baltimore; Spokane, Wash.; Oakland, Calif.; Portland, Ore.; Phoenix; St. Louis; Memphis, Tenn.; and Los Angeles. It also said it would add two round trips daily between Salt Lake City and Seattle.
Most of the flights will be on Delta Connection regional carriers. Delta said the new flights build on last year's recent acquisition of Northwest Airlines. For instance, the Bismarck-to-Salt Lake City route connects an upper-Midwest city in what had been Northwest's strongest territory with a city that was one of Delta's hubs.
