I strongly suspect that he will not win given what I am hearing. There are really only two viable candidates and the other will throw his weight behind another for the VP slot.

Here is to hoping the other viable candidate isn't "Age 70" Rice. I know he was misquoted as saying we should raise the age, but the ALPA TV clip suggests he thinks we should be "having that conversation". When Prater last "conversed" on Age 65, our lives were set back five years.

I heard from one attendee that Rice recently was recently discussing the possibility of a looming pilot shortage (I think it was at a BOD meeting). His concern was that we should take steps to help mitigate it.

Wow...

Okay, 148 posts to 50,000.

Will we know who wins the election today? I'm going to bet, 50,000 by 1:14 am if that is the case.

Agreed. I hope Rice stays out.

I sure as hell hope Prater is not re-elected.

I think our best bet might be the FDX guy. I heard from a friend at the big ALPA boondoggle that Lee M has minimal support - he said even some of the DAL guys don't support him. I guess what goes around comes around.

I do not know the man, but, I've heard his speeches and it amazes me how folks are (deliberately IMHO) misunderstanding him. What he says is that he has a son who just started for American Eagle. He is proud that his son is the third generation of ALPA member and that he worries about his son's future. THREATS include cabotage, scope and age 70.

Politicians can and do say about anything. But amongst the speeches I've heard, Rice's talk is by far the most cogent. If "our" candidate, Lee Moak has said anything, can someone post a link? I'd like to hear his campaign speech. I'd like to not count him out until we've at least heard from him.
