I sure as hell hope Prater is not re-elected.

Question, I couldn't find it here Airline Pilot News and Analysis - scope-table so I don't know what their scope clause is but if Alaska voted in super strong scope and then we merged, could we then say "we want their scope."

I think Horizon is going all Dash 8-400, so if it was no jets.

Or Hawaii, do they have regionals? I doubt it... don't know, too early to research.

FYI... You look like a moron if you wear a double breasted jacket and don't button it... ;)

Did the bid by Droid with a "few" cocktails in my system by the beach. Wish I could remember what I bid but at least I bid!!!!!!!

PS. There actually were a few hot chicks at the Redneck Riviera....surprisingly they had all their teeth and weren't playing the banjo. I've only worked 16 days in almost 3 months....anyone have a liver they can spare?

HA!

One day I will goof it up. I've never not bid for a monthly schedule, just vacation which in my seniority is always going to be in September anyways. I've been bidding every 10th and 11th now, so I'm pushing my luck. But my worst bids are early and then I forget to go back and review.

If Prater wins, I am sure more cards will be flying in. I mean that.

I strongly suspect that he will not win given what I am hearing. There are really only two viable candidates and the other will throw his weight behind another for the VP slot.

Isn't that great. Instead of a candidate that most pilots like and feel good about, we have to have backroom deals to get "him" elected. No wonder I usually don't care for politicians.

And this surprises you? They need the RJ votes in the room. To even whisper scope is political suicide.

Nu,

That is a false assumption. If a Presidential Candidate were to adopt a real unity plan .. a plan by which they would seek to unify flying performed under one brand by one seniority list the result would be hugely popular. That is effective, inclusive, scope.

In other news ... Delta is pushing back from some of the Global Distribution Systems demands:

News from Travel Technology Update: GDS companies should be forced to bargain for access to new ancillary services, Delta Air Lines told the U.S. Transportation Department.

In comments on a proposed rule that would require airlines to provide optional service fee data to GDSs, the carrier said it is considering the GDSs as a distribution channel for ancillary services and expects to negotiate with them for access. But Delta added that GDSs have not effectively demonstrated to airlines the technological capability to sell ancillary services.

Their primary capability is to distribute air travel based on price and schedule, it said. There is no differentiation based on customer preferences or value proposition offered by the airline, Delta said. Ancillary products must be delivered in a far more targeted and personalized fashion, it said.

Delta intends to distribute new products and services based on customer preferences. The price of these products may also differ based on criteria such as frequent flyer status or fare paid.

Delta will consider negotiating access to these products if the GDSs develop and demonstrate the capability to distribute ancillary services in a way that allows for this personalization, the carrier said.

The GDSs should not be allowed to use the regulatory process to bypass negotiations with airlines, Delta said.

Delta's comments were the first indication that the carrier's merchandising strategy is similar to American's.

American has said that it plans to incorporate its proprietary customer segmentation data in determining what products and services to offer customers and at what price.

Does Island Air do feed for HA?
