Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
PBS Question
How can someone Junior to me get a line, when people senior to the person were affected by unstacking?
The other bidder and myself had pre-awards. The other bidder had Vacation. I had Vacation and MLOA.
In open time, there are trips available which could have built me a line.
The result, he gets a line, I do not. But I was affected by unstacking, he was affected by denial mode.
What gives?

There were trips that could not be assigned because of the ALV requirements. They opted not to award them in PBS. They are now in the opentime pot for pickup and swap. Go look at the ATL ER most of the trips there are 65+ hr trips

Well, it's interesting he told you that. That is certainly more than we as a pilot group have ever been told. Whenever someone brings up the kinds of percentage increases we would need for restoration, someone else (usually a big Moak defender) pops up to say how unrealistic it is. That, along with the complete lack of communication of any objective, sure makes it seem different from what you were told.
If I add my pre-awards and two trips in open time (no FAR violations), I have a line.
Then call SL on the scheduling committee. Better yet, e-mail him at his DALPA addy.
They can always unstack up to 50% in a holiday month like Nov. Not sure why, but call or e-mail him, he will let you know what is up.

I've got a question about raw scores. I was assigned a two-day trip for tomorrow with three days of reserve availability and a raw score of 48. Another guy had six days of availability and a raw of zero. I got the trip. How does the computer/scheduler/dart board throwing guy/Ouija Board assign trips based on raw?
BTW, its a sweet little two-day, so I'm not complaining. Just trying to understand how the raw thing works when there is one open trip and one guy with a score and the other guy with zero.

Disclaimer: I am not an AQFO, but I think the benefits/liabilities are going to depend on your aircraft type.
I talked to 3 AQFO on the A330. Here is what caught my attention.
If you are senior in the category it probably doesn't help you at all for scheduling.
All 3 AQFOs were told that they had to do ACC so they could do ride alongs. This was a big MINUS in my estimation.
"Office days" are fleet dependent, as in are they required, how many and can you do them via telecommute.
I'm sure there were other things they told me, but I pretty much stopped at that point.
Good luck.

I would always bid that to one of my days off so i got that pay over guarantee.
There is no other "office" work required other than voluntary (which you get paid more than you actually work usually) standards and procedures stuff.
If you're very senior I would not consider it a good deal.
Buzz, if there is a two day and there are no two day guys they can go to the three day guys and if there are none they go to the four day then four plus day groups.
They will almost never use a guy with more days than a guy with less days avail that is legal for a trip. Only exception is SC pilot.

What happens to trips that are awarded to someones line on dates that fall after scheduled training for new equipment? Just seems like some guys got hosed out of lines because PBS saw credit due to training and then tossed a trip in after it. I guess the trips just drop into open time?
You will get paid and credited for those trips. If they show a (S) they were awarded as a shadow award.
