Well, it's interesting he told you that. That is certainly more than we as a pilot group have ever been told. Whenever someone brings up the kinds of percentage increases we would need for restoration, someone else (usually a big Moak defender) pops up to say how unrealistic it is. That, along with the complete lack of communication of any objective, sure makes it seem different from what you were told.
Did he mean pay rate restoration? Did he mean scope restoration? Did he mean pay rate restoration paid for by additional scope sales? Did he really mean anything he said? Carl |

You will get paid and credited for those trips. If they show a (S) they were awarded as a shadow award.
BTW, it wasn't my line. I'm still on reserve. :D |
It is all in section 23.
If you are in the bottom 40% (60% or greater) you can be unstacked on any given month. 50% in some months. Shadow award are for pilots that are not yet qualified in a seat and converted, or ones going to training for part of a month. (More than half of the month is avail to fly before you go to training) In a full month of training you are paid ALV. There is a lot more too it, but look at the wide reports and you can get a feel for all of it. The trips are awarded with a (S) in them. |

I saw several guys who were awarded trips AFTER their scheduled training. IOW they are scheduled for converting from 320 to 7er on Nov 1st then awarded a 320 trip on November 24 after he will be converted/qualified on the 7er.
Is that shadowing? |

And so they're paid for the trips, but the trips just drop into open time?
Takes a bit of the pain out of going to the schoolhouse with the extra moolah... plus by being a lineholder before you go to school you can pick up trips and make some significant money as a result. |

Well......this doesn't bode well for the Asian Flight Attendants.
Delta Air says will add 1,000 flight attendants ATLANTA | Fri Oct 15, 2010 6:40pm EDT ATLANTA Oct 15 (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines Inc (DAL.N) said on Friday it would add 1,000 flight attendants through a combination of new hires and recalls of furloughed workers for international assignments. Delta spokesman Morgan Durrant said the carrier needed flight attendants fluent in languages such as Japanese and Mandarin. He said they were expected to be working by the middle of 2011. Delta, based in Atlanta, Georgia, has about 20,000 flight attendants. An election is underway to determine if they will be represented by the Association of Flight Attendants union. Last week, AMR Corp's (AMR.N) American Airlines said it would bring back nearly 800 furloughed flight attendants and pilots to handle network expansion on international routes.
