Someone mentioned it earlier, but how far out are the 787 orders???
I would think at least another year, but not sure if we are converting or delaying those aircraft deliveries. I've heard the prolonged contractual delivery date of the 787s, formerly held be NWA, will translate into quite a bit in savings/incentives from Boeing eventually. |

Carl;
Many times the explanation is the "answer." I read you words. You retort is the same to almost everyone on here. You also make the assumption that because I use Professional Negotiators as an example I am against it. Say what you mean, and mean what you say. And when you're wrong, admit it. Until then, you do not have my personal or professional respect. I think you do everyone a disservice. Carl |

I don't know how NW did it but DALPA has always hired professional negotiators to help with all aspects of a new contract. We normally have a entire top labor law firm at our disposal.
The members of the negotiating committee at NWALPA would disagree with your assertion. I'll bet the DALPA negotiating committee would disagree as well, but I don't know that since I was not a Delta guy. Carl |

Could be. The ATL C P O publication says ATL is going to see some fleet changes that will make a "new normal." The plan keeps changing, but they promise to pass along information as it is firmed up.
If the 320 comes to Atlanta, I wonder what will become of 737 staffing. The 320 is getting a lot of the flying which used to go very senior on the 737. |

nwaf16dude,
Would you happen to know if a guy will sit or work with a Dec 1. conversion date and a training date of Dec. 21? I am not real sure how the contract reads regarding delayed training and conversion dates.

If it's a full month of training you get the ALV for your category. I'm a bottom 10% reserve guy and I was paid ALV. If it's less than a full month it gets prorated, but I'm not smart enough to explain that piece.

Glad to hear that you'll be a supporter of DPA then. ;)

They play run scared and hide about as well as they negotiate. They've been in the game so long, I'd guess they already know what each negotiated item means to a pilot. I really do want to say something positive and rosy here, I really really do. |
