I am sure they have some good reason why shouting and complaining and being obstructionist was the focus of their efforts, but they have not put any money into the hands of the people they represent. Not only that, but they referred to ALPA pilots as "scabs" because we supported the merger and got stock, pay increases, and more benefits from the merger agreement. Scabs. Enough said about that group.

[colorful language] them.

Scabs???? Hope they go down in flames... or go out like an A380 engine over Indonesia.

AR, since you are not a FA (as far as I know), nor am I, but thats a pretty big statement concerning AFA. Like you have requested of other people on this board, would you mind providing the proof that AFA has called us scabs...have not seen it or heard it. Are you close to an AFA flight attendant that you can claim that they do not put the money into the hands of the people they represent.

So the "November Short-Calls" link in the Crew Sked page now has planned short-call times and numbers of pilots for the bases. Interesting. Wonder if they'll stick to them.

Check, correct. I beleive they have until Nov 12, 2010 to file their objections.

No contractual obligation to, so we will see.

Can you prove that? Please do.

I think there is little chance of success in the end result.....

The resolutions will pass at the LEC level no doubt, but I think that at the MEC level it stands a chance of passing too. But I doubt the NC can accomplish the feat. But why not ask, the worst that can happen is they say "no".

We can always ask for anything we want, but the reality of the company saying yes to a non-Section 6/JCBA payraise situation is not only unlikely, but it is a risky precedent for the company to set.

this is entertaining, and takes place in the DTW airport no less,

In fact its doubtful the company would even meet to discuss the issue. Any changes will have to come with the new contract 4 or 5 years from now.

If the resolution is a dud, it will probably frustrate the maker and the second when his Reps fail to act on that resolution on the MEC level. If they then vote against him, the pilots who passed the resolution and the action requested, he might feel they have no respect for the grass roots democratic process. Wonder if he'd want them to be senior leadership in his union?

That is also somewhat unlikely as most of those type issues have been worked out and it would have to be something with a like dollar value.

Like a little scope sale?

I heard them call us scabs personally as they were picketing a shareholders meeting prior to the merger. It wasn't just scabs, there were quite a few other choice words thrown in too. We had to hold back one guy who was ready to go clean their clocks.

I didn't say they never put money in the hands of the people they represent, I just said they haven't gotten a nickel of benefit from this merger. Certainly, they haven't approached the figure of almost $2 billion (including stock) that ALPA got from the merger.
