Funny Columbia, but nope, pays the same as October 22.

Yes, training is backed up. No reason to hire nor add more to the pipeline until they get though that.

I assume that if it is booked at the start of the JS window you are out of luck, but if you reserve it and then they take it, you will get psy. Like LCA they will probably book well outside of the window so you will know what is available.

Kicked aside. From what I remember, I was scheduled maybe a week or two ahead of my observation flights, so that would be ahead of any jumpseat booking window. Someone in the training department reserved the jumpseats, when I showed up at the gate for the flight, I just checked in like I was a regular jumpseater. I didn't have any seat in back.

Alright, I need some help.

Short version: I am scheduled to attend A320 Initial training in December. It's on my schedule in PBS and Icrew.

Problems: My name does not appear on the Student Schedule for the A320 in December under the crew resources tab. Additionally, I am scheduled (In PBS and DBMS) to start on Monday the 13th of December. But there isn't a class starting that day. All A320 classes start on Wednesdays. The one that starts on that Wednesday does not have me in it.

I have called Training planning and all they can say is "It's on my schedule". They gave me an email address for crew resources which has apparently been ignored for several days.

Who else can I talk to? I just need to be able to make my plans for the Hollidays and know when I should start prepping for training if at all.

Really Annoyed!!! Thanks for anyones suggestions on who to contact to get some answers.

P.S. I have several friends who are all senior to me who were awarded the A320 on the May AE, none of whom are scheduled for training in December but I am. Is that Legal? We were all awarded it, not MD'd or VD'd.

Thanks

The total amount put in however can still not exceed $49,000 the extra catchup contribution only allows YOU to contribute more.

The company can give us more than the $49K through the plans, but it would be treated as taxable income. I like your thinking on this issue. Having a DC contribution amount that would put $49K in every 12 year captains account would be much better than the old DB plan.....at least for the younger crowd and is the best shot for the older guys to get close to what they may have had.

That is where my line of thinking is. Taxable income or not, we need a find a way to get as much money in to those accounts as possible. I want the option to leave early if my kids opt not to go to a place like Harvard or Georgetown!

First MD training goes in inverse order, so if you are the most junior you are the first to go.
Second, if you are switching bases, you will DH the day prior to MSP for training. That is why the start date is one or two days earlier than the normal start date. They will not have the student schedules finalized for December until the end of the month.

Are they not smart enoough to get academic scholarships? I saw a news article about Harvard and the endowment. If I remember correctly, it said that many/most kids received almost full tuition/board is the parents made under something like $200K.
Of course, there's always the boat school!

Is there any way they could contribute in gold or silver? With the devaluation of the dollar accelerating with our ever increasing debt, I would like to be able to retire someday.

Columbia, do not get me started. I have always argued that we as a association should have a substitute currency written in to the PWA. I figure the Euro, yen, or gold valuation on a different currency would be a good backup. It would be triggered at a certain inflationary point.

So yes, I do not mind that either.

That's what I thought. My kids will be out of college in 22 years and that is when I hope to be able to retire. My farm ground isn't as nice as what you probably have in NE Texas, but it's provided a living for 4 generations and I hope to be the 5th. I would love to run nothing but a John Deere after age 50.
