This protest is just for appearance sake. They need to be seen as going down fighting -- for the benefit of all their hard core supporters. It wouldn't surprise me if they give a wink and a nod to the NMB to dismiss these goofy interference claims.

So I guess the AFA gets to spend millions campaigning, in addition to enjoying the newly imposed election criteria that they were generously awarded by the Dept of Labor (rules that seriously tilt the odds for union representation), and the company is supposed to just sit back and do nothing? Are you serious? There is absolutely nothing RA could have said that the union wouldn't have distorted to fit their accusations. Hopefully the NMB will do the right thing and base their decision on facts.

You asked if we(I) really had that much interaction, I gave you several examples. In 2 of those examples a pilot with extensive knowledge of the aircraft was required and in one case a pilot with that knowledge and authority to deviate from standard procedures in a non-emergency situation.
In any case the 330 fleet is not 12000 pilots its much smaller, but the 7ER fleet is probably bordering on unmanageable by a single person.

In any case I think from a contractual standpoint a unionized FA group might have made it easier for us to negotiate. It would make it harder for management to use the "If we give it to you we have to give it to the Flight Attendants" excuse.
Disclaimer: I am speaking neither in favor of nor against a flight attendant union.
