So, do we capture the revenue on the ladies that carry four bags on the airplane and five blankets off the jet? Besides, what do these women do with all of our blankets? I've never been in a house and thought "... this place could really use a bunch of bright red blankets."

IMHO we need to be more diligent ensuring the first 80 folks on the airplane leave some room for the passengers coming behind them.. and while I'm on this rant ... can't believe the commuting off line FA's that bring FOUR and FIVE bags on the jet, throw them in the first class section, or first row of coach, then find a jumpseat, while revenue bags are tagged and put downstairs.

As for huge raises am I the only one thinking the company isn't really making enough to replace the 757 and MD88 fleets in a few years? Sure we need raises, but our goal should be balanced with our long term interests.

the good thing about the fees is that they're not taxed like crazy. We could raise ticket prices and give the gubment more of the cut or just have bag fees and keep the money. We've figured out you can keep the tickets low and charge for bags to offset the need to raise ticket prices.

The gubment doesnt like not getting their piece of the pie though.....

Continental Airlines comes up with new fee

DALLAS — Continental Airlines says it will let passengers hold a reservation and lock in a quoted ticket price for up to a week — all for a new fee.

The offer, called FareLock, will give travelers three days or a week extra while they can decide whether to buy the ticket or let the reservation expire.

Compensating your employees appropriately is part of having a "very healthy company." Screwing your employees over, just because you can, is ultimately counterproductive to a company's "long term interests." I have no doubt that the company can find a way to pay us appropriately... just like they found a way to get $1.26 billion in new fees or to survive a summer (2008) that included $140/barrel oil. LM and his "proactive engagement" has shielded the company from the normal consequences of mistreating employees, and has hurt the very pilots he was supposed to be representing. We can keep making excuses for why we shouldn't be paid like the top notch professionals we are. Or we can start advocating that we be compensated appropriately. I'm in favor of at least trying. Quitting... especially giving up on something for which I've worked so hard and my family and I have made so many sacrifices... is not in my nature. Sorry.

No, we need raises---actually RESTORATION. We have been taken advantage of for too long, and there are plenty of other things or "one time charges" the company could do to "prepare for the future", like buy 10 million biscoff cookies and store them in a warehouse. That may save us money in the short term, but we need to be paid better NOW. Start at the Southwest 737 rate---for our 737s, not for our 777s or 744s. That is the new benchmark. The Airtran guys are going to get the SWA rate, and so will we. If they don't like it, they can raise fares or fees even higher. Too bad. And, I won't give anything up for scope either. We are coming off of a BK contract, and times are better. Will we ever get the pay back from the C2K days? I don't know, but it will be darn close.

Great info.........

But, I've gotten the .ics file as an email attachment on my iPhone but the next screen is blank and nothing merges into the calendar.

What am I screwing up the iPhone end
