AA runway excursion!

Just saw where AA ran off runway in heavy rain last night in Jamiaca. Reported 40 folks hurt. Don't know which aircraft.

What does this have to do with Delta. We already get enough college football crap, that clutters up this thread. Lets not add more "fluff."

College football comes with coed pictures and underboob. Its a give and take. :D

Although I will say this about AMR, and max you're right there is a seperate thread dedicated to the 737 overshoot last night, but nobody can have an incident or crash and get is scrubbed from the news better than AMR. I'm sure people don't even know about the MD-80 incident in CLT last week in the fog.

And when those below you got burned out in said environment, they call in sick, as they should (not fit to fly). I remember seeing 9 Captains with 9 to 10 days off a month, ***... Great airplane and schedule for slugging it out in a winter northeast, 21 days a month. Please... Get of your high horse.

Do you remember the sick time proposed by Kolshack during the 1113 filing?

Any foreign US Embassy will sew them in for you.. no charge, and it usually only takes about 15-20 minutes. I did it in Kiev once, and I flashed my passport, walked right in, and was out in half an hour. Sweet.

73NG broke in to three pieces after it ran off the runway.

We just need to ask how we got here? The policy is OK at best, and needs improvement.

Agree fully - to think how far we have fallen since contract 2000........I hope that the new LEC officers as well as all the MEC are up to the task come 2012.

acl65pilot 12-23-2009 08:06 AM

Well I personally am fairly bullish about the new 20 and 44 reps. I think they will fight for everything we deserve.

Keep them informed of your opinions, I know I am. They have some great ideas.

Someone should have told them "relax, you're [I]in the United States[I]. I've never heard of them rioting to leave. That tells you how bad JFK is. They would rather return to a third world cesspool than spend one more day in Terminal 3. I just left JFK today and was asking about that. The gate agents said there were passengers who were physically slugging the gate agents and that's why the cops got called.

Its not JFK, man...its the folks flying there. Word on the street is that the PAP flight is more unruly and ridiculous than any SVO, Lagos or DKR has ever been. Which, is saying a great deal.

acl65pilot 12-23-2009 09:16 AM

But add the fact that our facilities are not designed with space in mind and guess what it is a perfect storm. Get T-4 like space in all of the gate areas and things would be better.

Semper Fi!

Plantation, FL Last week police were called to investigate an attempted armed robbery: The 71-year-old retired Marine who opened fire on two robbers at a Plantation, FL, Subway shop late Wednesday, killing one and critically wounding the other, is described as John Lovell, a former helicopter pilot for two presidents. He doesn't drink, he doesn't smoke, and he works out every day. Mr. Lovell was a man of action Wednesday night. According to Plantation police, two masked gunmen came into the Subway at 1949 N. Pine Rd. just after 11 p.m. There was a lone diner, Mr. Lovell, who was finishing his meal. After robbing the cashier, the two men attempted to shove Mr. Lovell into a bathroom and rob him as well. They got his money, but then Mr. Lovell pulled his handgun and opened fire. He shot one of the thieves in the head and chest and the other in the head. When police arrived, they found one of the men in the shop, K-9 Units found the other in the bushes of a nearby business. They also found cash strewn around the front of the sandwich shop according to Detective Robert Rettig of the Plantation Police Department. Both men were taken to the Broward General Medical Center , where one, Donicio Arrindell, 22, of North Lauderdale died. The other, 21-year-old Frederick Gadson of Fort Lauderdale is in critical but stable condition. A longtime friend of Lovell was not surprised to hear what happened. The friend said, ''He'd give you the shirt off his back, but he'd be mad as hell if someone tried to take the shirt off his back.'' Mr. Lovell was a pilot in the Marine Corps, flying former Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson.. He later worked as a pilot for Pan Am and Delta Airlines. He is not expected to be charged authorities said. ''He was in fear for his life,'' Detective Rettig said, "These criminals ought to realize that most men in their 70s have military backgrounds and aren't intimidated by idiots." Something tells me this old Marine wasn't 'in fear for his life', even though his life was definitely at risk. The only thing he could be charged with is participating in an unfair fight. One 71- year young Marine against two punks. Two head shots and one center body mass shot... Outstanding shooting! That'll teach them not to get between a Marine and his meal.

Chalk one up for the good guys!

Scoop

Damn fine shooting!

I have a friend that interned at AA for several years in a row.

Around 8 out of 10 Haiti flights they have to get the cops involved.... it's what comes with that crowd...

Scheduling and PBS Errors

Found several errors in thier awarding of trips. Make sure you verify what they are doing. I dont know if its cause they were new FNWA or what, but check em out!!!

PBS made an error in my award and put me on a RES line. Found the error and scheduling gave me a Blank Line for Jan!!!! How great are those...I get to pick out whatever I want to fly. Happy Channuka to me!!!

Quick question:
In one one of those scheduling errors, they gave a guy a trip that should have gone to me on a yellow slip. The scheduler admitted the mistake. If I am on reserve and they mess up, do I get that pay no credit if Im under guarantee?

newKnow 12-23-2009 05:39 PM

Outstanding!

beer 12-23-2009 05:48 PM

As for my bid award from PBS, I called the PBS desk and ALPA. The PBS administrator told me that the computer messed up!!! How many times does this happen every month I wonder?

He did make up for it by giving me the blank line. I thought that was extremely fair!!!

College football sucks? Noooo.

I'll tell you what sucks, its when you're hotel room key doesn't work.

But what really sucks is when you really need to get in that room because after a 15 minute walk from your favorite Texas taco stand your brain is getting signals that you won't make it to your room, but if you do make it to your room it'll only be to hide from the public because there is no way you're going to make it to the bathroom and as your shivering hands slides the key in the door and you yank it out, your eyes watering, but you get a red light, the key doesn't work.

That really sucks.

Now there's a thread drift nobody wanted.

new, is there any way to pass the word up north that just because there is a south guy in your hotel van, chances are, he really doesn't understand PCS or PBS either. :D I can answer some questions, but not most.

The pilots that they need to find are the ones who are not so old they don't get computers or so young they were still hitting on girls in class when contract 2000 was signed.

No way forgot,

For someone who asks as many questions as I do, I need as many crutches as possible to lean on. If you are a South guy in my hotel van, I'm buggin' the hell out of ya! Sometimes in BOS I can catch three or four of you at a time on the way to or from the hotel!!! :D
