If I want to get even more conspirational, I'd expect him to reappear as CEO of an airline we would be likely to merge with, and about 5 months thereafter where he would announce his intention to retire at the helm, "unforeseen circumstances" would force his hand to reluctantly accept a merger offer from DAL.

He's hardly off the gravy train. NWA's senior pensions survived BK and carried forward. One only had to occupy a senior position for, I think, one year to be fully vested and considered to have had a full career in that position. Plus, they were additive. DS held four separate senior executive positions during his tenure at NWA, ergo, four full pensions (roughly $1M/yr plus bennies). He's also, what, president of the aviation financing branch at AIG? The BOD pay was chump change.

Ok you are a glass half empty like me on this guy, but you are definitely thinking outside the box. I think your version of potential reality is more creative and likely than mine.

+1. These guys never go away.:(

Me either. DTW 320B is always one of the last. :(

Man did I mess up biding. I guess I didn't quite understand the Clear Schedule and Start next option. Ended up with a terrible RES schedule.

You forgot the part where he spends his first 4 months vehemently denying any merger discussions.

That would presume that we would need someone with the "skills" of DS. We won't need to find that because we already have him. His initials are EB.
