Or will they sweep it under the rug and/or try to rationalize some explanation of why it supposedly isn't relevant to us? Many of us will be watching this one closely.

SWA will be completely brushed aside and lied about, along with many false comparisons. Bank on it. But it doesn't matter if we ALL remember the power of our NO vote.

The average 18 days off is on the basic original lines and counts months with vacation. To earn 230 K you have to fly extra time. The same happens at Delta. We have had in the last year pilots break 50K in one month. There will be a number of pilots at Delta who break 300 K this year. I flew with 7ER copilot who made 200K last year. If I simply flew my basic line at Delta and counted in vacation and all the DH deviations I probably average working under 10 days a month unless I choose to pick up overtime.
I am ahead of my peers at SW in compensation this year and have worked less. I have however had some very lucky breaks with trip assignments and dropped trips. Its always nice to get triple pay.

Totally incorrect. 230K is AVERAGE for their Captains and 18 days off per month is AVERAGE.

This post is a classic example of how DALPA will attempt to spin us as higher paid than SWA pilots.

Maybe that will be tried, but with AirTran here in ATL we'll all get to watch them get their pay raises.

Asked a buddy who is a 5th year or 6th year FO when they're getting their raises, he called that the $64,000 question.

Is it $64,000 pay raise?!

That's not going to go unnoticed anymore than those ugly blue and orange paint schemes. :D

And there are RJ pilots making $150K/year. Purely outliers and isn't really germane as it doesn't apply to the vast majority. I also have many buds at SWA and they've all said the data is accurate and not embellished. Average really IS $230K for CAs and NOT while flying 18 days/month. Average 3 day credits 21 hours and average 4 days credit 28-29 vs. the min of 19.5/26. Reserves 15 days off and average line days off is 17-18, not 12-13 as you mentioned.
The best apples-to-apples is average days worked/off and average W-2. A small group of people making $300K or one FO making $200K is absolutely meaningless. :)

Where did your data come from? Anecdotal evidence from talking with a few of your friends? Sorry, but I think I'll go with the official numbers published by the folks who have access to the actual data...

So a SWAPA publication to a group they are merging with is the "burning bush" and an ALPA publication needs to be "watched closely." Got it.

Nice double standard...:(

I guess reading isn't your strong point?

You're mentioning a couple pilots out of a 12000+ pilot group and comparing that to an AVERAGE of another carrier that used to be the bottom feeder?

What are they feeding you alpaoids?

Using Reagan's adage - trust but verify.

Unfortunately ALPA is running a little behind on the verification. Too much spin in Herndon.

Hey New, watching Thomas Jefferson bio from Ken Burns. Rented it.

Or too much good times, security and money from pilot union dues?

Hey ACL, what happened to your $20+ prediction for our merger to end all mergers ? ;)

Regards......

Math was never my strong point, however:

In May 2010 AAI stock was at $ 5.64. In May 2011 the stock was at 7.43.

Where does 109.8 % come from ? Was it the Tim Martin journalist that wrote the story ?
