Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
FTB,
As a 727 lover I question your math.
IF NWA had 31 727s (in 2000) and DAL had 102 727s (in 2000) that strikes me as 133 727s.
But the Fleet Types Eliminated Since 2000 table shows only 102 being eliminated which leaves 31 still flying.
Either your table is wrong or, better yet, .... I want to fly 727A
PS: This would be a great time to post a picture of that beautiful aircraft!

no it hasn't...does that mean we will furlough...not necessarily but the surplus from these ac being parked is very hard to track when you have so many cards in play....massive training from an up and coming entitlement being one of the big cards....not to mention proposed rest rule changes...implementation times for that....oil .... you get the idea.
When you have so many ac and bases, a few hundred extra pilots isn't a lot. We have more than a thousand at any given time out on sick, military, bypass, long term training....

I know what you are getting at though. Many of us hope for it, but IMHO I don't think with the unrest, delays in the 90 certs and the 9's we have already parked it wont be this year. But I hope I am wrong.
Hey guys,
I'm writing a paper on Delta's international management for a MBA class. Can someone please send me a PM with a name and/or # of someone in HR that could lead me to the right person that wouldn't mind answering a few quick questions?
Thanks!!

Buzz,
I think most in this country realize we are broke and everyone is going to have to cinch their belts. What is happening is a shakedown of unions, whether it be NJ, WI, OH or airline unions. They (ultra wealthy, multi-natls, etc.) are trying to further diminish the middle class, thus more money, less or no taxes for themselves. What would your feelings be if a group of politicians attacked your earned retirement and tricare? My guess is you and other veterans would go bat****. Sorta like the teachers and other union members are now. If, big if we are going to turn this ship around EVERYONE is going to have to pony up. Workers are going to pay more taxes, corps. are going to have to lose some loopholes, write offs on taxes will need to be eliminated or reduced, politicians are going to have to give up their full pensions and health care for life after 1 or 2 terms (maybe pro-rate those based on years served) those on SS will have to take a hit, same with medicare, military retirees(especially hire paid officers) will have to take a 10-15% pay hit and pay more for tricare. My guess is most fiscal conservatives won't like it when they come after their benefits, but it is ok to go after others. So, Buzz. What say you?

Here's the bottom line: 47 of the 52 US states are in the red. The game is changing. Unions are outliving their usefulness.
Just came back from a layover in DTW, any questions?
And, finally, for all those UW students parading around Madison with their Che Guevara t-shirts on...Che's dead, get over it.
priceless....they scream that Delta has to follow their contract during the integration until the vote for the union to continue is done.......EVERY SINGLE PART right down to the crew meals..........except the pay! they want the Delta Flight Attendants pay and profit share. Cake and eat it too?
Oil's at $102. It's almost a play by play response to whatever Libya is doing with their aircraft at this very moment.

The shooter is believed to be a 21-year old Albanian from Kosovo. According to Fox News, the U.S. troops onboard the bus involved in the attack were destined for Afghanistan deployment."

Not taking a side in Wis. because it doesnt matter, but I just had a question about the article.
If the taxpayers pay nothing toward teacher pensions in Wis because the teachers fund it completely themselves thru delayed compensation, then why not have the teachers fully fund their own paychecks thru the same delayed compensation.
That would solve Wis' budget right there.
That article is called $hit for the troops. Please think.
