For aviation and aerospace buffs.

Just an interesting Flash animation on the Space Station construction.

No underboob.

can anyone give a quick answer to this one: can a reserve pick up a trip in open time and if so is it paid over the 70 hours?

A reserve generally cannot pick up a trip in open time. You can put a greenslip in that will pay the trip over 70 hours if it's on your days off, but those are awarded in seniority order after all whiteslips and reserves have been exhausted.

Gentlemen,

I'm reading up on greenslips and the contract is worded poorly. (I don't know what a "loop back" is.)

If I put in for a greenslip that conflicts with a later trip, they can still give it to me, and I'm off the hook for the entire duration of the later trip, right?

I believe you are correct. But a "greenslip with conflict" is extremely rare.

You can yellow slip for it (which acl is a master of doing), and it pays the same as a GS for a rsv once youre over guarantee. When youre getting used everyday it can make the difference between the 69 hr month which hockey hasnt figured out yet how to avoid, and an 80 plus hour month.

You are correct, Old Spice Guy. That is the elusive green slip with conflict where you get the gs pay plus full pay for the rotation it conflicts with. The ladies truly love that one.

I thought that the GSWC is paid straight time and you got the pay for the other trip?

(i.e. not 200% for GSWC and 100% for dropped....)

So that doesn't go in seniority order? They will give it to someone requesting a greenslip w/out conflict first?
