Please tell me you aren't making the pre-push back PA that Captains elect to make or not. I would hope you're not thinking, "Well, guess he isn't going to make one so I'll take care of it."

Regarding PAs, the worst is when I'm sitting in the back and hear the Capt do a pre-push back PA and he includes his and his F/O's resume of flying experience (e.g. F-16s and XXXXX, XX years of experience, XXXXX flight hours, etc., etc., etc.). Fortunately I can count the number of times this has happened on one hand.

Me in the back (better than being in the front) in this situation:

FTB, here's another shot of her to help you further evaluate her legality.

Didn't the Co recently send out a suggested script for the FO's to ready when standing in front of the pax? It was w/ the cards and wings for the kids.

Sorry bro - not gonna happen.

An occasional PA, sure...but that's it from me.

Baja.

She looks like a 15 to me...on the 10 scale that is.

Baja.

OMG! I know exactly who that is ! Ha ha ha ha!

We deadheaded from SAT back to ATL, and and while sitting in the middle seat between the two large people ,the Capt made that PA, we were sooo embarrassed , I almost took my hat off

HaHa - I laugh everytime I look at this guy's picture - that's exactly how I felt the last time I DH'ed on an 88 and got the speech - dude told us all about his yuppie northeast college ROTC days (I won't mention it 'cause for all I know, he reads this stuff), his career in the Navy flying hornets "off the boat", his experience at Delta, including every plane he's flown, number of hours, etc. Ugh.

Just when you think he's done, we get the life history of his f/o.

All of this while facing a plane-load of pax at 0615. :(

I felt like melting into the seat while secretly removing my uniform items.

I like to keep my PA's basic, where are we, where we going, my height and dimensions, how long the flight will be, what my biggest fears and insecurities are, my favorite color, how sunrises make me cry.

Being brief is paramount, staying on topic is the most important thing.

I hate giving my name to the FAs for fear that they will announce it on the PA. There is no upside. They are already on the plane so your name is not going to draw any extra customers and on the downside there just might be an angry husband or boyfriend on board that would recognize my name!

Hey Delta guys, could you put some truth to this rumor or put rest to it. Some people are saying that there was a small hiring pool (less than 10 guys) and that they just received letters saying there will be no hiring until 2013 and that they all will have to apply again. It had to do with international cuts, recall bypasses and mil leave people coming back or something like that. I didnt think that Delta even had a pool so i called B.S. Have you guys heard anything?
