One of the funniest PAs that I heard was in the Navy flying C-9's. The aircraft CDR was pretty funny, and he would finish off his initial PA's with:

"Folks, I hear that there are a few nervous flyers onboard - not to worry, because although this is my first flight as Aircraft Commander (Captain), my co-pilot recently finished seventh out of 19 in his graduating class - so we have that going for us."

I wouldn't want to do that at DAL, but he pulled it off for years in the Navy, probably because he never flew TACAIR and couldn't brag about his resume. :)

I have some Lucy Ricardo splaining to do here.*

First, years ago Continental Express had Beech 1900Ds which only had 19 passengers and therefore no flight attendant. The FO makes all of the FA announcements and then does the walk throughs.*

One of the FOs got to the exit row and noticed a *girl there who looked a little too young to sit there as there is an age limit for the seat. He asked her how old she was and she said 15.*

Well that's young, but is it too young? Unfortunately he couldn't remember the age limit which is printed on the exit cards btw.

Instead of looking it up discretely he elects to shout to the Captain sitting in the cockpit:

*"Hey! Is 15 legal?"

Everyone turns to look at the FO, including the Captain who loves to tell this story, and there standing next to a pretty teenager is an airline pilot wanting to know, is 15 legal?*

So in that context, my post with the last sentence first: :D*

So my 19 year old daughter goes to PC for spring break with her BFF and her bff's mom to stay at a friend's condo.

Two of my DAL bubba's show up minus their wives, and proceed to put their ceaseless best moves on my daughter......she had to emerg evac to get out of the situation........a long way from home.

Note to these guys : you are no longer anonymous. As much as I love a good underboob, it's different when it's your daughter.

So what I got so far from the past 2 pages is that a 15 year old (whose legality is in question) chick received a letter via a PA that she might not be hired until her dad takes the early out offered

is that right?

Yeah, they don't know what they're doing THIS December, let alone next December, or the December after that.....


Oh, and don't we finally catch up to age 65 in January 2013? This letter is BS. :)

Concur...I bet we see some interviews scheduled this Fall.

"Near term" is intentionally vague, but I would hope that means this summer, leaving open the likelihood for fall hiring if the economy improves over the summer.
