..........but I think it has more to do with the fact that there is almost exclusively O&D traffic in the NYC domestic markets(JFK intl conx excepted). The company can fill an airplane out of NYC at 0600 to lots of locations due to sheer numbers of people that live in the NYC area. On the late inbounds, even though there still isn't that connecting pax (lots of O&D), they can fill an airplane later in the evening and have it terminate in NYC at 11pm, and people will buy the tickets.

So THAT's why 767-400 pilots from ATLANTA DH to NYC to stay on some of those cheap hotel rooms and fly to SVO and NCE and some of the other destinations that the -400 guys have... It makes much more sense to layover crews from other bases and have the domiciled pilots do that O&D traffic flyin' than to increase the base size and actually staff the categories to handle the flying. But the upside is that it frees up the local guys to cover such gems as MEX which is a 10 hour 2 day... non commutable on both ends... naaaaah the ATL guys couldn't POSSIBLY do THAT one....

767-400 NYC.. All London, all the time...

ATL767B... only 5 days in june with reserves less than required. Some days with 30 guys on reserve. ***?

If you are an ER captain in NY, and you have a trip on the 31st of May, you stand a chance of dropping it... too bad we don't have any 1 day trips...

Took him one night....

That's me upon completion of putting together my own personal Delta manual.

Now when they tell me "One place, right place," I can smile and say, "yup." :D

Excellent post newK and spot on.

FWIW, many of us northies' biggest problem is what has happened to our operation. We were almost always at the top of the list for ontime arrivals, and exceedingly operationally efficient. We were always in the upper middle of customer satisfaction and won first place nearly every year from customers for our website. Now we are the most complained about airline by our customers and near the bottom for ontime arrivals and other metrics.

The above aren't complaints...they are simply facts. Now when you add to this the fact that many north managers were removed from their positions for trying to add our expertise to the operation, it doesn't exactly create a high morale situation.

Don't know how many northies agree with my analysis, but I know it's the feelings of many.

Carl

I don't doubt what you say about ontime and operational efficiency but I think South F/A's overall are better at customer (and crew) service than North ones. Not to say that North F/A's aren't good though.

Cog;
The Cincy F/As were pretty cool, but comparing ATL to DTW F/As, its a win for DTW hands down. IMO

Generally speaking, you have to move whole groups of X days or move the last one or two X days in a group over to the next group. As someone else stated you can't create new groups of days off. Remember that moving X days comes after all the regular line holders have done trip drops and other reserve pilots have done PDs (personal drops). If there are lots of available reserve pilots, it might work. Good luck!:D

Thanks found it in the Notepad. Apparently I was trying to create a new X day grouping.

The first PCS run for the following month is the 20th at 0700 ATL time, every month. PCS then runs 3 times a day, so if you don't get them in for the first one, you can always try again later.

Oh this industry ain't like it used to be...

http://teezerscostumes.com/images/pr...G5236_6526.jpg

wait, I take that back...

it's never been like that.

But if Delta pilots could be allowed to moderate themselves on a forum about themselves then surely we could one day be in charge of the dress code? Can I get an amen? From at least the Fly DC Jets crowd?
