Where do we stay in Vegas? Do they do a crew rate? Just looking for a cheap option for one night.

Do not forget that Terrible's also has an awesome breakfast. It is one of the haunts that the locals frequent. Sahara has cheap rooms. Last time I checked they were 19 a night! |
A bunch of the June "A" PBS awards are out on Deltanet.

Jiminmem,
I also have been looking for something to replace both my flight kit and my two snap duffel that clips onto my Luggage works roll-aboard. At first I thought I could get by with just the duffel - but when I put all the stuff in it that used to go into my flight kit, it did not work too good. Then I tired a case logic TSA friendly back-pack. This is good because you can leave a laptop inside through security - again not enough room. Now I am using a travel pro bag (bought at the DTW stopover store) that works really well. I think this is the same one that a lot of FA's use. Generally more room then the backpack and the mini duffel, and you can carry it via the roll-aboard hook or just ride it on top of the roll-abroad strapped to the handles. It is not a perfect solution but the best one that I have found so far, short of taking two separate smaller bags. Tons of compartments for headset, glasses, flashlights, emergency rations etc. Note - I fly the 737N (Bag -Killer) so I have to leave my roll-aboard in the forward closet. This means that everything that I need access to must be in my smaller bag. If you are on an aircraft designed for two or more human beings in the flight deck, and thus have access to your roll-aboard, you might be able to get by with the small two snap duffel. I also need a laptop for my reserve gig so that complicates matters also. Hope this helps - Scoop :) Thanks Scoop. I'm on the bus, so we do have some room, but looks like a few votes for the travel pro bag, so I'll have to take a look next time I swing by the stop over store. |

The Vegas layover hotel is very nice but next to no discount for personal use. They will want at least $100 a night which is very expensive for a Vegas hotel. Check out Terribles near the Hard Rock. Great rooms and only $30 per night for crew rate plus free wi-fi and free airport shuttle.

Yes indeed, breakfast isn't bad and it's 50% off with airline ID. They did get rid of the omlette station and that was the best part. Still a great deal for $3.00. The Sahara shut down.
