Maybe, but it won't be to NATCO. I think the whole reason they're consolidating is so they can sell NATCO.

What I see is a capacity disciplined airline that is taking advantage of a slow economy. We will use this slow fall/winter to do mods on 767's, consolidate training facilities, and get more debt off our balance sheet. We will be fat on WB's this winter like every other year until the schedule picks back up.

Also, notice how this announcement was made AFTER the early out programs were announced?

This may help some with their decision.

I think theres at least 8 open sim bays in ATL. And that's without relocating the MD-11, L1011, and old 737 sims.

I think are have 5 320 sims alone.

This is just demoralizing. I'll bet a beer that someday (less than a decade?) a bunch of post merger babies will be sitting around and talking about company X that moved into MSP and DTW to fill the "void". The discussion will be along the lines of us talking about how sad it is that Delta gave up the Western route structure.

Just amazing and just so sad.

They'll probably winnow that down to 3 (as many -800 sims as we have) and increase the number of sim sessions per day. Back in the day, DAL training went around the clock to max utilize the sims.

Yep, the Western post-history is a sad one. What a waste of an opportunity.

There's plenty of classroom space that currently sits empty. That won't be the problem. I think the owners/managers of the current training hotel in ATL just got a lot happier.

You mean into Natco? No talk of shrinking MSP or DTW ops. I was told MSP will be a major MD90 base, with some 320, 330 maybe, and 7ERs. DTW will probably look about the same, with an addition of 737s or MD88s to cover the DC9 departures. The void in MSP will be Natco, and that was probably always known.

Thanks for the gouge Bill. BB's a pretty straight shooter.

Any gouge?

I suspect you will be discussing the next AE by weeks end.
