Congrats Hornet! Hope you get what you're looking for. What's your duty station? Best of luck. How long have you been in this process with DAL?

Getting Closer

Hey All,
I could not take it anymore. So, I called the HR Dept. this morning. It has been just over two weeks since my interview. Talked to AG and was told I was cleared for training as long as the PRIA paperwork checks out. I don't see a problem there since all my flight history is Military. So I guess I "sort-of-officially" have the job. She said expect the next call to be from someone with a training date. So I guess I will "sort-of-celebrate" this weekend. I am playing Mr. Mom for a couple weeks (wife deployed overseas with her Guard unit). So my daughter and I will celebrate at Chuck E. Cheese! Looking forward to the first day of training!!!:)

Just some FYI stuff: Talked to a dude that got the job offer the same day I did. He has heard there may be two new hire classes in June (only a rumor right now). Anyone heard the same thing? Same dude also mentioned that the HR dept. likes to give new hires around 21 days of advance notice for training. I thought this might help someone for planning purposes if you want to give an employer a two week notice. (I'm a big "don't burn any bridges" type of person)

Good Luck to all!!!

Guard Dude,

How far in advance from your availability date did you receive an interview?

Thanks!

Hey guys - does Delta have domiciles at both LGA and JFK? Are they junior or senior bases? Thanks.

WarEagle,
I received the interview email around the second/third week of March. I had to choose an interview date toward the end of April due to current job commitments and interview prep time for myself. I had a May availability date. So, to answer your question, a couple months from the "interview email" to availability date given, give or take a week. Hope this helps.

"sort-of" congrats! I heard tonight that the latest "bid" to come out has 120 'new-hires' for MD88 in ATL and about 80(?) on the 73 - not sure of the numbers or the time frame. Anyone know where the 737 bases are?

120 on the 88, 40 on the 800. All ATL.

Tom

As I understand it you cover all three bases. The official domicile is NYC. Most of the trips are between JFK and LGA. There are fewer trips originating in EWR. I'm ATL based so I'm sure someone will chime in if I'm off. If you get a crash pad, I think Kew "Q" Gardens is equal distance from LGA and JFK if you plan on using public transportation. NYC is a Jr base, but lately guys are saying LAX is a jr base because you have to cover four airports, but I have not seen any evidence to support that.
