The plot is way thicker than that:
Singapore is a pretty established member of the StarAlliance. Singapore did indeed form a JV with VAustralia. Singapore also happens to own 49% of VAtlantic. Singapore won't leave Star, but I can see a three way deal with Delta/SkyTeam to get VAtlantic into the group. With the pilot strike looming at VAtlantic nothing will transpire until thats resolved. Branson wants out and that also puts VAmerica in play... This will get very ugly. Cheers George |

The International fleet (175 aircraft) has an average age of 11. That's what's on Delta's charts. I think you're missing some younger 767-400's and 75/76ER's in your count. There's a compilation of each fleet type on Delta.com that has fleet age as well.
747-400 . Fleet Total: 16 . Average Age 17.6 757-200 . Fleet Total: 33 . Average Age 14.1 767-300ER . Fleet Total: 58 . Average Age 15.3 767-400ER . Fleet Total: 21 . Average Age 10.3 777-200 . Average Age 5.9 Total 169 The 13.464 is running all of the aircraft listed in the international fleet dates vs todays date. It's not an average of the numbers above. |

If trying to swap a trip over the same exact days for more flight time, is it true that it won't work if one of the reserve days is capped (even thought it's for more value or the same days)?
Remember, if it's a 3 day trip that blocks in at 2330 or later, it's actually a 4 day trip in the eyes of PCS (because they would have to use a 4 day reserve to cover it). |

My guess is that the current committee called Seal Team 6 to rescue them from the bunker, now the MEC needs to bring them in, dead or alive.

So much BK talk I'm catching up with reading here that I need to post a commercial break.

This will get very ugly. Cheers George We will be placing a massive order soon and everyone knows this. I'm sure a global powerhouse with an improving balance sheet can more than beat the terms of a tiny egomaniac driven start up thats always down to their last 20 million when it comes to terms of aircraft orders. In the extremely unlikely event we decide to get their planes cause RB wants out, we can take those over through the leasing companies way outside the realm of any merger. |

What could we possibly want with VA? If its their awesome A319/320's, couldn't we just order them on our own? We need WAY more than what they have, and please don't mention their meaningless letters of intent of their fantasy start up fleet plan where every start up claims they will order 400 jets and fly to every single city or whatever.

OTOH there is a real possibility that is Plan-C for the West Coast... Consolidation is inevitable and marginal players will be assimilated one way or another. VA hasn't-ever-made-money...
