So then what you are saying is that those that commute choose to do so, because you live in Hooterville, a base which Delta will only lose if there is a liquidation of the company. Got it. You have no credibility in this issue and should endeavor harder to keep you pie hole shut when it comes up.

At American, the Pilot Board is elected by the pilots. The President is elected by the pilots. The last few years, the President was following one path and the Pilot Board wanted to go down another path. How do you resolve that conflict?
At Delta, the MEC is elected by the pilots. The MEC elects the Chairman. If there is some conflict of ideas, we always know who is in charge. The Chairman works for the MEC, so the MEC is the boss. The MEC works for the pilots so the pilots are the boss.
That is why there is no direct election of the Chairman. If the pilots elected the Chairman, what would stop him from going his own way and ignoring the wishes of the MEC?

P.S. Of course since you have apparently have not been paying attention recently, the good ol U S of A IS pretty scary right now, and it is because some member(s) of the executive branch are making attempts to throw that Constitution right out the window. The members of the Legislative branch apparently have not had a clue for at least 800 days, and now the country is on the brink of an economic collapse. Just like ALPA, we depend on our representatives to do the right thing. I cannot remember the last time they actually did so. So it's not the perfect system, but it's the best money can buy.. (be sure to contribute to ALPA-PAC)

I'm sensing a common theme here. Someone has a different viewpoint/opinion/idea/background/wish/want/need then yours and they have no credibility. Got it. You must be real peach to fly with........

OK, of all the controversies shaking our nation from the budget to the MEC road show and Delta's RFP none has been so soul shaking to the average redneck Peachtree City resident as the disturbance in the force that is NASCAR.
