I would not say out of the question. You could pick up international flying out of the gate but it would be 767 ER out of JFK. I would not expect to see anything in LAX for new hires. Now, we had 4 SLC 757/767 spots in my class back in October which was pretty unusual. You could possibly pick up 757/767 out of ATL but it would be domestic (South America, Mex, Canada counts). There is a 767 ER in ATL, but again, not for new hires. Your best bet for getting a line the quickest is the M88 (NYC or ATL) and then bid that aircraft to the base that has it if it works for you.

This is a great thread. Here's a question, does anyone know if Delta is only hiring pilots with X amount of hours, atp, lots of turbine PIC, etc? Or do they consider anyone who meets the minimums? I have a bit more than the minimums, 121 experience, but am I living in a dream world thinking I have a shot with less than 3000 hours and no turbine PIC time?

I will say this. If you work for Eagle you can get a job with no PIC. As long as you have been at a place where upgrades have not been possible, the lack of PIC time is not a negative. We have hired a lot of FO's with no PIC. Not all of them have been WIA. There have been a fair share from AMR Eagle.

Hey guys, does anyone know how the recruitment team looks at the apps.? Does a computer generate who gets a shot or do they use some kind of point system? Had my app. in since the begining but no luck in getting a call. 6000TT, 2700PIC, 2 types, unfortunatly no internals. Thanks.

do you have any letters of rec from a Delta pilot?

acl65pilot 11-09-2007 06:46 AM

I can tell you that if you can get an internal or two that is well written, it goes a long way to getting you a interview here. There is not point system like they use at UAL.

Unfortunatly, no internals. I was hoping to go to the AirInc this month in ATL, but it seems they are not going to be there.

Go to the next one. The only reason I got hired is a career fair.
Good luck!

I had no internals and only slightly more time. However, they do appreciate check airman status as well as good college degrees... Hang in there, mother Delta will hire 700 pilots next year.
