Anyone know if there is still room in the August 6 class??

Gladioslave 07-10-2007 06:26 PM

I know that Rhino driver was the last into the July 16th class. Based on those numbers of 25 a class there should be some room left. I interviewed the 19th and should be in the teens for tht class to do the math of 5-6 per day(Tuesday, Weds, Thurs).

Guard dude, My question now is did you have time between the indoc period and actual equipment training? If so did you get paid during the time not actually in training?

G.Slave,
I have been off for a week and a half. I start aircraft training on Thursday. While in training, you are on "salary" at 2750 a month. So while I was home, I burned a few drill periods and got recurrent in the Herc. So that will be a nice kicker. Also, I had a Systems computer based training course to complete before I start. Just got back to ATL today.

Nice to know you get paid while away for a few weeks! Did anyone roll right from the 1st two weeks into training or does everyone have a few weeks off? What was the average break in training for your class? I'm trying to not go on terminal leave until I return for the second half. ;) Double dip to the max!

Rhino Driver:

It is hard to anticipate since it depends on your airplane assignment and how far training is backed up. My buddy who started on July 2 goes straight into aircraft training so he is trying to get his systems learning, limitations and action items down before indoc is completed. He is going to be tight on time. Others will come out of indoc and have almost a month before aircraft training.

But, this is not completely a vacation, or wasted time. The systems training is on your own time with aircraft manuals and computer based training. You are given a book that you need to complete as you study. When aircraft training starts you are already expected to have studied up. Once the training starts it sounds like it is very efficient and fast.

This is just what I'm hearing from the guys in the last couple of classes.
