Currently I have flown seven days this month in ATL. Been on short call three.
A few months ago when I was NYC based I worked three days the entire month.
This will change with the holiday and then the spring schedules, but currently they are adequately staffed on the 88. It is nice for a change.

80ktsClamp,

Is the money on reserve in ATL about what you expected? If not, is it more or less? Is there flexibility to earn more money on reserve if you want? How is the reserve schedule on the ATL767? Thanks for your response.

acl65,

Has rolling thunder been working for you?
Thanks you've been a great help

It definitely is... I've broken guarantee every month until now..and this month I wanted to "take it easy." I ended up using a couple payback days and got a 4 on 4 off schedule, starting off the month with 8 days off in a row. This was only possible b/c they are staffed a bit better this month. This will change come the holidays and much moreso the summertime.

In contrast, I did a bit of "rolling thunder" in August and credited well over 115 hours. Even being the plug on the category, I was able to pull that off. It was quite nice.

I moved to the ATL area in late august and did not have a crashpad during July and August. I only had to get one hotel room. If i were still commuting from DTW, I would have only had to get around 1-2 hotels a month.

This block of days on reserve now is the only full block where I haven't been called since I have been on the category.

Someone asked about bidding for long or short call- When you bid for a reserve line, they are all long call. Short call is only assigned by 3pm the day before your reserve period if it is needed.

The new AE is out now... Plenty of spots and this one is going to create a tremendous amount of movement.

this is a big bid, no doubt. But it won't create the movement you would suspect. Many conditional vacancies (a vacancy created when someone leaves their current position) will not be backfilled. Especially with the ATL 73N. I spoke with crew resources and they said there will be no backfilling of the 73N in ATL, and limited backfilling in other categories.

it will be an interesting bid though. It's been a long time since we had a bid with new categories.

Nov AE

Does anyone know when Delta allows a new hire to bid on an AE? I start indoc next week, Nov 12, but I would bet the AE is closing next week as well. Anyone else put in a bid as a new hire?

Don't get me wrong, I am happy to get whatever I get :)
Just curious.

So where and how many vacancies?
Thanks

There are 63 surpluses, 31 Capt and 32 FO all from the LAX 765.

There are 684 vacancies, 197 Capt and 487 FO.

Thank you, sully.

How many FO vacancies in LAX and SLC? And on which aircraft?

Forgive my ignorance, but those 684 vacancies have to be filled by next march?
