Sully,
Since everyone is on the same equipment are you all on the same post-indoc schedule or will they break up the class? Either way, what will the average wait be from indoc to start training? SJ |
SJF15E:
No, everyone is on different schedules based on your seniority in class, others going through training (Captain upgrades, etc...), the availability of simulator, instructor and check airmen resources and your own personal needs / requirements. In our class we had a wedding, death in the family and a house closing. The Delta managers are good at getting swaps accomplished to try to work with you - but ultimately Delta calls the schedule. If they put the whole class into one category - it pretty much guarantees that some new hires will get at least a week off before the systems validation / ground school. But, there will be plenty to study while waiting. Hope that helps clear up any uncertainty that your schedule will be uncertain. It is nice to get the extra time to study if you get a break - but you are on a training salary until after your Initial Operating Experience is complete. Once you get flight pay, the pay check improves a good bit. So the quicker you get on line all the better for the paycheck. Mine went up an average of $400 a month. Also, "probation" is finished at 400 hours of flight time, or 1 year since Date Of Hire. Not that it seems to be any huge deal at Delta, but it would be off "probation" ASAP. BB |
Good luck getting 400 hrs in 12 months. Maybe if you get the 88 in NYC or the 737, it could be possible, but most are going to hit the 12 months about one to two months before the 400 hrs. Lots of sitting around going on here. Not that it is bad. Probation is a non-issue here. I have not flown with a jerk yet. I am sure that there are some, but to date everyone has been awesome.

I had no internals and only slightly more time. However, they do appreciate check airman status as well as good college degrees... Hang in there, mother Delta will hire 700 pilots next year.

You forgot the "s". I have three different ones and it worked for me.:D
I don't even have one, so I guess I'll never work for DAL. It was a simple question. Good versus bad, I understand there is a preferred list for DAL or not? A certain accreditation organization? good luck with your training, then again, you may not need luck, you are very smart having three degrees. |
