FWIW, that was a suggestion brought to the meeting by line pilots. It was well received by those in attendance.

Are you sure my timing is off? Here's how I came up with a two year delay:
1) Six months for the NMB to call for an election and the results to be determined.
2) Assuming DPA wins, six more months for DPA to conduct fair and balanced elections to fill the slate of local and national officers, as well as staff all the committees
3) Once the officers are in, it will take another six months to develop and then survey the pilot group and figure out what they want, based on the DPA survey
4) Once those results are known, another six months to craft an opener.
Frankly, I think those are best case times - so two years is probably optimistic. Meanwhile, the rest of us tread water and watch the world go by living under "status quo" conditions.

Here's mine:
More major contract changes without Memrat thru LOA. Our inspired monarch surrounded with his selfless advisors definitely knows best.
Continuation of scope erosion thru the use of Alaska's virtually open ended ability to fly DAL pax at the expense of DAL growth...Alaska continues to grow. DCI not sunsetted. Small jet scope not recaptured. Deltas smallest jet will seat 130. DCI's will eventually be allowed to seat 90.
A small compensation increase with COLA for the life of the contract in effect extending our bankruptcy contract. Dont concern yourself that when you turn 65 you just might enjoy the taste of cat food.
A shrinking DAL pilot group due to non-growth and minimal fleet recapitalization combined with expanded code shares. However, if you shine your shoes and wear your hat, you can keep telling yourself that DAL pilots are the shizzle.
Minimal scraps of workrule changes that give the appearance of improvement over our beaten down current situation. We will be allowed to stop hitting our hand with a hammer.
Outsourcing is good for the Delta pilots. Repeat this over and over.

Every thread on the DALPA forum gets hijacked by DPA'ers. Unfortunately, the same thing goes here. They have their own thread to discuss that movement, but they keep hijacking all the other threads too.

I used to come on this site and read all of the unread posts. At one time, it was a great source for rumors and other information about Delta.
Now I just check the last page, to see if it's just the usual suspects beating the usual drum. It's getting old.
This DPA vs. DALPA garbage needs to be on it's thread, not this one. FWIW, this has turned me off to DPA (not that I was a huge fan of it previously).
