They would give us a few busses and a mini hub in a city we don't care much about. Unless the MD90 pipeline falls apart I don't see a single reason to even look at F9 unless its just to get a few 320's on the cheap. And even that looks very unlikely as I just don't see Alaska operating another fleet type just to get cheap airplanes.

As much as it would be great to help the F9 pilots out, from a business perspective, they fly an airplane that DAL has previously snubbed their nose at. Their DCA slots are up for sale separately, and we just divested DCA slots.

I am going off memory here, but their 318's are leased, and if we would even entertain getting them, I am sure they would have to be returned to the leasing company.

Then again, they do have C-Series slots, but again, it is cheaper to swoop in and take them after RJET implodes.

ATL Domestic guys don't fly to China or need a Chinese Visa, so why are they required to perform International category items such as this? Sounds to me like the training department is trying to sharp shoot the system here.

This may be of no help but I asked, and aside from the conversion chart, it is a RNAV arrival exercise that all need to do. Switching runways as well. Really not that big of a deal. The learning point here was selecting the correct transition.

They also will do a Blue Water track divert using the hard card.

Fyp, the training cycle was approved by the FAA. It is a training SPOT event, and unless you crash the sim, it is just that. No one is graded. I was told they chose this arrival because of the anomalies with the transitions when switching runways.

I did it, never have been to China, and do not have the visa to go do China. It was a ten to fifteen minute event.

If he still has consternation over it, have him call HH on our training committee at ALPA. He will provide the most accurate answer.

How have int'l folks been dealing with that? My 2nd passport croaks in about 3 months.
Simple, you have to bid around it. For you, DAL will pay to expedite it. On the ER I will just have to bid NO INTL.

Passport turn around without a via can be done in three days, with a visa it is a crap shoot. My Russian visa takes about a month. That may be problematic as passports expire. They may reverse this decision.

FWIW, this is news to me.

And its great that "no scope concessions" is an approved talking point. But that's not going to cut it. No scope concessions means scope status quo. Alaska growing at twice the rate we are shrinking and us giving them twice the pax they give us, DCI flossing and flying over 250 DC-9-10 replacement jets all over the place and us trying to figure out how we will split all our international seat miles with every airline in the world including future start ups that don't even exist yet.

Of course there won't be any scope concessions. That's like being on the verge of D day and our generals saying they won't give away any "more" territory. OK, great, of course that's a given. But is it a priority to get back and do we have a strategy to get it back, or will our brightest days ahead still find us outsourcing half our airline to the lowest bidder? (and how bright will those days sustainably be if we outsource half our airline)?

And SWA+ is more than enough...depending on how big the "+" is.

In any case, trust but verify. We need to keep track of the meet and confers. With DCI and whoever else requires them.
I just reported the news, I did not make it. I agree. A status quo section one is not what I would consider as a gain. It has to be a number one priority in section 6.

That is their issue, they have and are looking to sell assets. Go look at their cash position.

ACL - Care to comment?

Fresh out of the ER training house: AE due out soon, to include the reduction of system wide ER pilots up to 400.

You seem to know when AE's are due out...are you hearing any of this talk?

Baja.

Just received an email from Ken Kersey crew planning. I will not cut and paste because it would be inappropriate, but he did say AE this week and that it was not a "mega bid". His comment about "not a mega bid" was in reference to sharing with him the rumors on the line about the 400 ER pilots slots being moved or surplussed.

I personally think that anything like 400 in one category would be mega....
