From: Going to hell in a bucket, but enjoying the ride .
Put it on the swap board, maybe someone who has the 25th off will pick it up.
Damn you PBS bid Computer, you have bested me again...
At my seniority, I know I'm flying over the Holidays so I preemptively asked for a nice high time 4 Day that finished up on Christmas day and would just allow me to commute home and open my presents at night...and maybe enjoy a drink in front of the fire. And bless you PBS computer, you unstacked that very same trip on me.....but you weren't done by a long shot. No, you searched high and low to find that perfect low time 2 day trip to back up against the 4 day so I wouldn't have a 30 in 7 and thus allowing me to spend Christmas night in the Kew Garden's crash pad. Ah, six straight days of duty over the holidays and nothing puts you in a festive mood like eating takeout Chinese food in a highly Jewish Queens neighborhood and then sleeping in a bunk bed with 3 or 4 guys snoring nearby.
Oh, PBS bid computer, I bow down to your superior intelligence...well played sir, well played.

This AE blows. Better get the MD prefs updated.
I think they have their act together.
85% of their passengers are through, 15% O&D.
They use Dubai like FedEx uses Memphis.
They literally have sort times, they're just passengers and not boxes.
Well, they do cargo too, with some whales and of course under-wing freight.

From: DAL 330
[QUOTE=Bucking Bar;1084308]It is a good one. Capt. SD talks about the potential for more 737's and a revisit of the often talked about, never ordered, 100 to 120 seat jet in April to early summer 2012. There's also a mention of a need to gather a plan for a wide body beyond that and 747's flying in Delta colors at least until 2020.
Bar,
I agree that the PODCAST was pretty informative overall, but I am not optimistic on the small narrow-body order. SD sounded very sure and confident of everything he was saying until he got to the subject of the ever elusive small NB order. As soon as he starts talking about this he was very careful about his words, and did not sound confident in what he was saying at all - almost as if he didn't even believe what he was saying (my impression only - listen for yourself and draw your own conclusions).
Lets face it - If DAL wanted a small NB we would order one. As it has been pointed out numerous times by people far wiser than I - they (management) have been saying this since the late 80's. I really hope that I am wrong about this and we actually do place an order.
Scoop
What will the world see first:
The Loch Ness Monster - Bigfoot - A Small NB order at Delta. All even money in my opinion.

ACL, Bar, anyone else...?
Does Emirates have a fuel cost advantage being owned by the Royal Family of an oil empire? Or maybe just when they refuel in Dubai?
In other words, does Emirates pay what Delta pays for a pound of fuel in JFK, CDG, and DXB?
