Maybe a cab service from my house so I don't have to make the 30 minute drive back and forth.
Free hotel room in base once in a while for a night on the town with the spouse, with per diem of course
Special crew room for non-commuters so commuters don't use up all the chairs sleeping from their commute.

But seriously, there are people at this airline who don't commute. I imagine you're frustrated but by asking for special treatment, you're taking stuff away from those who live in base.

and what of those who live in a base that is closing. I'm not choosing to commute but will be forced to for at least a few months.

You are also fortunate if you can sell your house.

When DFW closed there were pilots that were building houses that had to close on them due to their contracts. Add the downturn, and implosion of the housing market, and these pilots are stuck.

There are a few that commute by choice, but generally with a good reason.

oops, I put that in my MD! j/k. Although I do enjoy "Manchester Arms"<----GOOD GRUB!

I have a feeling ATL and NYC will be the only two bases at this global airline..

I know, I know. I was replying to the post about choosing to commute. I'll be commuting along with another of other people who didn't choose to. I will move, but can't do it for a few months, others will probably not be so lucky

Also why displace 73 pilots if we are ordering 100 739s? Couldn't that category stand some fattening?

Figure something out for the commuters, make more than a majority commutable. You never know when you might become one.

Ftb
Not a commuter

P.s. I don't think they can come ask for scope relief if we get short staffed. A 3 letter word comes to mind if that's approved.

There are no 73N displacements planned (although I expect significant pin action in Atlanta). In fact, we are adding a few to the category in anticipation of the super stretch double skid plate version. They bulk the A position first to avoid green on green and high mins problems.

Hopefully they'll not process as many forced displacements in the B position. That's one of the real wild cards in these AE's. I can never tell how many extra they will carry in category.
