With all the artificial subsidies that industry gets, both direct and indirect (529 scams, etc) and the entitlement mindset, people have been lining up in droves to throw money at worthless degrees regardless of cost. That will change and change hard. The new loan forgivness is yet another multiplier of this bubble that will burst harder than the housing bubble.

And yet even today people still scrimp and save, by hook or by crook, to get their kids up to 6 figure bachleor's degrees just so they can party hardy and escape reality for a few years and pretend to be mini adults while avoiding the real world. When the college bubble pops, the squealing for taxpayer/currency devaluation bailouts will shriek louder than anything that ever came from Wall Street.
It's time to look at non-traditional means for college that yield the same accredited degree for a fraction of the cost. "College Plus" is one option I'm looking at for my kids.

The Old Schoolhouse Magazine Reviews CollegePlus! | CollegePlus!

You could earn a bachelor's degree for as little as $15,000, all accredited. It's also popular to get core courses out of the way via junior colleges whose credits are accepted at state schools.

I agree college tuition is artificially inflated due to government subsidies.

I don't think the college you attend matters as much as your performance in the workplace. My sister attended a no-name college for a bachelor's and master's degree, but is now an Asst VP in a Fortune 500 company.

This graph is adjusted for inflation! Real College costs have quadrupled over the last 30 years.

There are definitely cheaper ways than the standard empty your wallet for 15 years like we have now. I took almost all my classes at a community college. They taught 300-400 level courses there for cc rates. The last 30 credits I had to pay the Riddle rates. Those 30 credits were expensive but my total 4 year bill was extremely cheap. Since it wasn't a popular way to get a degree my largest class size was 6 students. I think I had the best education for the money.

(No, he wasn't wearing a clock.)

Flav was the last one off my 88 in ATL one day. I helped him with his baby stroller while he put a clock on. He is a little dude but waaaay cool. His little kid was pretty cute, even with his genes!!! haha

He and his surreal life fling, Brigitte Nielsen, remind me of an old saying......If your nose to nose your toes are "in it", if your toes to toes your nose is in it!!!

There are ways to get your electives out of the way for nothing. Several government agencies (for example FEMA) offer accredited credits for taking their training courses. Go to their website. You order and they mail you the book, you read the book, the test questions are at the end, you either mail in or input online your answers. Instant 1-3 accredited credit hours per course. FEMA offers about 15-20 courses.

Agreed-similar to the housing market being artificially inflated due to the mortgage interest subsidy. Govt welfare.
