Is there a limit as to how many times you can move days off around on a reserve line? I checked my request in PCS and it says "not allowed until next months schedule" Prior to this request I have moved around days off twice so far in December so I'm guessing it's a 2 award limit per month? Couldn't find anything in the contract.
Quote: I had the NTSB inspector that investigated the Pittsburgh crash on the jumpseat once.... He was not pleased with the politics involved, I will leave it at that.
The hydraulics and flight controls specialist on the NTSB "Go" team related quite a bit to me about that mishap. He was my uncle.
I with ya on the scope issue. Big time.

I'm fine with it, but the seniority thing has had a huge effect on me with respect to being ATL based. (My choice)
Quote: American Airlines First To Be Granted FAA Approval For Pilot iPads | TechCrunch

AA is bankrupt, but they still ponied up for iPads in the cockpit. Once again, Delta sits on the "industry leading" sideline.

I'm fine with that, though. Just show me "industry leading" scope, pay, and QOL improvements on C2012--and I'll put up with Jeps indefinitely.
Quote: "Final" test phase? hmph. Until I'm holding one, they don't exist.
Has any money been authorized and allocated to fund them? Wake me up when that happens.
Until then, there's nothing to see here.
Occupy,

What exactly are you upset about here? You praise American, criticize Delta, and post an article as proof that Delta is sitting on the "industry leading sideline." But, the article says that American is/was joining Delta and Alaska's intentions to switch to the ipads. So what that American got approval first? Delta is working on it, aren't they?

First paragraph of the article:

Quote:
If you’re flying American on Friday, there’s a chance your pilot will be using an iPad instead of the traditional paper flight charts. The airline has reportedly become the first major one to get FAA approval for the device, though smaller charter lines have had it for a while. American announced their intention to make the switch back in June, joining Alaska and Delta and probably a few others by now.
I mean thanks for posting the article, but don't misrepresent it as if it is suggesting that Delta not trying when it comes to implementing the ipad for use by its flight crews. It takes away from your legitimate criticisms of our pay, scope, and QOL.

Might have been the same guy for all I know. I don't remember his title, but he talked a lot about it. I won't go into it on this forum..

No, there isn't a limit.

During the PBS runs, you can't move anything within I think the last six days of the month (because PBS might award you something on Jan 1st, then there might be a conflict that PBS didn't know about).
Quote: Are you aware that the iPad is currently being tested by Delta pilots out on the line? The iPad is in the final test phase right now.
Yeah, I just flew with one tester and he said it would probably be at least a year before we actually get tablets. Everyone else should have them by then.
The FAA guy I talked to about iPads said "you're CEO doesn't want Apple products."

So I don't doubt we won't have it for a year.

I doubt very much whether we'll get the Ipad. It's a nice platform, but there are other platforms that can do much more in terms of airline ops, and when the infrastructure is in place (internet pipeline on all DL aircraft, integrated with some of the aircraft systems), we'll probably see it in the cockpit. I heard recently that the McRib is costing us more than a total revision solution, so expect that to go away soon. At that point, having a V-file is really pretty redundant.

The investor conference today mentioned that DL expects to conclude the pilot negotiations by the end of 2012. I have said it here before, they don't want any loose ends going forward and I expect an early opener from the Company in the near future. Hopefully it is representative of the tens of thousands of pages of "suggestions" we've seen here.

If that's the case on the McRib, I would think that the Jepps would have to be changed out every 2 weeks. No McRib, where will the QRM go?
