Got a question for the crowd! Going to 75/76 training next month and I'm that kind of pilot that likes looking at pictures and diagrams of the actual guts of the airplane systems. Is there anything out there besides the pics and sometimes system diagrams in the MEL?

Not Carl, but searched my hard drive and don't have one any longer. Perhaps Ferd?

No sorry, don't have one either. I checked out so long ago that I only got the BIG book and a sound on slide CD......you know, back in the old'en days:D
I might have to put one together myself, if there isn't one out there..... |

I still have that Big book, too. I'm glad I kept it. Now, if I could only find a NWA style SOPA/SMAC VOL I for Delta procedures.
I might have to put one together myself, if there isn't one out there..... But, I am enjoying Bus Boy School Ok, so it can't do a civilized localizer approach.......but so far I'm very happy!! |

I did not like refueling from the KC-10, but then I was doing it in a Herk and later a C-141. We had a boom slap over Lake Havasu and the aircraft, EC-130, was pretty torn up and landed at the old Havasu Airport on the peninsula. I'm pretty sure the KC-10 disliked refueling us even more, with our snail speed. The KC-10 would not let us really fly boom limits without sensing a trend disconnect, and in the 141, if the T Tail ever got up high, it was quite a ride!

I respectfully disagree. Considering the number of people in this airport, I think the ATL does a fine job - plenty tall - I feel the headroom is more than adequate. Wider would be okay, but as is, when people form a line across the terminal for Starbucks and Chic-fil-a, vs turning it down the concourse, things would be better.
People movers? What do you call those electric carts? The incessant beeping and screams from the drivers are just fine. As Seinfeld said, "Cart People! Everyone move aside for the cart people! If you're too fat, stupid, or old to find your next gate, maybe air travel isn't for you." Additional lanes between ramps? What? You think the cost of doing that justifies the occasional Ramp 2 to Ramp 1 repo? A Victor loop for the southside would be a much better idea. JMHO. :) |
Quick question:
Anyone know of a ski resort near SLC that offers decent airline/military rates? Looking to go over the New Year's Eve weekend, just tapping the knowledge of this board. :) GJ P.S. Be nice to find something ski-in/ski-out, or near a lift. thanks to all replies in advance. |

If you want a Vol 2 on CD-ROM in color let me know. I can send it tomorrow. Ferd can figure out the install part since he just pecks at a keyboard now days. If Carl had a copy, your talking test pilot era. No color back then. |
cni:
If you're going to be in ATL anytime before training, you might take a look at the Systems Study Guide for the 757/767 available in The Flight Station. Has diagrams, Limits, some Immediate Action Items, etc... It was put together by some ground school Instructors using the old Delta PRM, (Pilot Reference Manual.) For about $34.00, it's a good source for extra 'gouge.' Good Luck! |
