Jughead was replying to a comment about the airport's physical characteristics itself, not the operation Delta runs there. No disrespect intended, but kind of a oranges reply to an apples statement.

When you have that busiest airport in the world it stands to reason you're going to see more passengers in and about the area. And with a greater number in your observation group you shouldn't be surprised to see more who are in the unfortunate sample that are running late.

But since you brought it up, I guess you could criticize the company for over scheduling Atlanta, however I think there are a lot of people who get paid to look at that kind of thing and my bet is that with the infrastructure currently available they're coming up with the mix they think is right. From reading your comment about passengers running to make connections it seems you're implying this is due to the scheduling of tight connection times. Now, I guess you could make the argument that some passengers are put off by the connection times they face, but my experience is that a lot of them put that on themselves. i.e. Given the chance, a passenger will more often than not choose the shorter connection time rather than choose to endure a two-hour sit. In fact, when I've tried to book a flight that has a connection through Atlanta, the options Delta provides me for the two legs do not allow for the minimum connection time I would choose if it were made available from the list of connecting flights provided, so instead I've had to book the two flights separately so I can get listed on a flight that has too short of a connection time from the one I want to take into Atlanta.

Maybe you were saying it's the total number of flights the company has going through Atlanta; that delays due to a number of reasons result in some passengers arriving late and rushing to make their connection. Either way, reducing the number of flights to provide a more relaxing experience for the customer comes with a lot of drawbacks.

P.S. Be nice to find something ski-in/ski-out, or near a lift. thanks to all replies in advance.
If you arrive early enough the first day, you can use this program for a free lift ticket to Deer Valley, Canyons or Park City. Just save your boarding pass.

You are right, FATboy, we weren't doing it properly. We were doing it like on a KC-135 which we saw 75% of the time. 45 degree vertical S Deltas and trying to see who got the PaChing' first! The Herk was a blast to AR from our seat as you did it all with rudder and 1010 degrees TIT. Speaking of slow, try refueling an HH-3 receiver single engine, 3-5 knots above airframe buffet!

Every resort offers discounts to Delta pilots so bring your ID.

King;

Try being the helo receiver on NVGs at 20% moon in a valley with fog at 200' on a mission in which, if you dont get the gas, very bad things happen. No pressure. Boom limits, pffft. Pavelows rule!

...and getting worse. When I commuted in last night we parked at D14 next to a 757 loading up for Vegas. Never saw a 757 on D before. The gate area inside was pure pandemonium.

The 10 calculated it's flap setting (ie...min AR speed) by adding 10 kts to it's buffet onset speed. Refueling 130's took some work as we were always on the back sided of the power curve and dirty. Once the speed starting sliding back, it was tough to catch it without gobbing in some thrust...and as a receiver, you know the result of that. Tobogganing made it so much easier, but what a PITA!

A-10s sucked as well, especially if the TEN (the real 10) was heavy. We were limited to 540K GW when refueling A-10s, but it wasn't always the case when we're constantly sucking every other tanker dry before they head home for the day. Fun times (and long sorties).

Cheers!
