Airline Pilot Central Forums - Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Don't y'all know by now that any "big announcement" in the airline biz is inversely proportional to the amount of hype over it?

Probably be that DS has changed his brand of Gerbil food, although I did hear something about legalizing gay marriage in Ga. :eek:

FWIW, rumors of good news will not encourage PIRPs. :D It will encourage us junior guys, but it will not encourage PIRPs.

I hear the majority of PRIPS are senior fNWA GB pilots on the 320 with little hope of getting on a WB. Speculation, but unless the "news" involves a lot of WB flying I doubt it will have much affect. Given the recent news about Intl traffic, I doubt there is some sudden change to reverse the reductions there. If anything those that thought they might hang around for a shot at WB might just throw in the towell after the latest schedule adjustment.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, the guys targeted by the pirps are probably barely aware of that "interweb" thing that the kids are all into these days. I think, overall, we're safe from them here. :D

Well, even if this "Good News" involves more widebody positions, talking about the rumor now will not effect the final PIRP numbers. If this announcement is on the 15 of July, PIRP's can still put their papers in prior to the 15th and then pull their papers prior to midnight on July 31.
